I almost play exclusively solo. I'm 35 with family and a kid and a demanding job.
I don't have time to learn to ride and my schedule make social game very hard. My average session of play is less then an hour, and I have no real life friends with a ps4.
So before the April update I quit destiny because I was stuck at 310 light and cut out from most end game content.
Then after the update I come back and...
Thanks to Iron Banner (a couple) I got 325.
Thanks to improved reputation drops I got to 330
Thanks to PoE and CoE i got to 333
Thanks to Sterling Treasures I got my hunter finally looking good (to me obviously, before it was more then one time described like the worst looking hunter in the game.)
Thanks to my new light level I can now solo endgame content like Nightfalls and court of Oryx and I finally made it to 335.
Now I can also enjoy completing missions that was too difficult for me to solo with a low light level.
I just felt to say thanks to Bungie for fixing the experience for casuals like me because I'm now enjoying this game like never before. You got one satisfied customer ready and looking for the next DLC.
Edit: Wow! Solo players are trending! Thanks a lot guys for your participation and appreciation!
Edit 2 : been away a couple of hours and the post blew up! Thank you all guys / ladies for being an awesome community!

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 6/4/2016 10:49:44 PMSame here. I've always preferred playing solo. I've actually been doing a lot more fireteam stuff since the update, but I reached my level all on my own. I'm actually still 334, though. I have many of every gear type at 335, except a -blam!-ing cloak. I have a surplus of 334 cloaks. :/ I keep telling you guys, RNGesus is a maniacal son of a bitch that shouldn't be trusted. Edit: but, my point is these changes are great. Bungee has been slowly changing things for the better. I went through art school and have always worked in similar fields. I know this stuff takes time. They're moving in the right direction, though.

7 RepliesI know I'm going to get leaned on, but where does one get 335 Ghost shells, Class Armor and Class Artifacts? BTW, the Thieving Cryptarch NEVER decodes any thing other than exotics to a higher than equipped light level.
-
I was the same way, stopped playing cause I was stuck a 313 and said never mind this pointless grind. Once Bungie changed the infusion I also came back and hit 335 within a couple of weeks and enjoy the heck out of this game again.
-
6 RepliesI still need a ghost and leg

I'm mainly a solo player, but I would prefer to be part of a steady & fun team. I like how Bungie fixed a lot issues solo players had with the April update, but I understand the privileges that comes with doing team-based events and obtaining exciting rewards. That should remain. But offering a better mode of communication or even optional matchmaking for certain events would be a step in the right direction.

5 RepliesEdited by Dark Raven 2501: 6/5/2016 7:35:30 AMSolo............. Bull shit your not solo player at 335 liar I'am solo player and got to 322 with out rely on another persons.

STFU quit brown nosing they aren't going to mention you on Twitter or a weekly update
-
7 RepliesWhere did you get artifact?
-
I do find it interesting that ever since the April update Xur has not sold any year two engrams. He is "totally random" yet is only selling weapons so as to limit the amount of infusion fuel he can provide.
-
Congratulations! I think there are a lot of unsung heroes out there like you.
-
solo player here and I concur, very good drops lately to get my guardians t 335
-
Nice, I stopped doing raids and such. Really just play PVP. But now I'm starting to drift off to new games.
-
7 RepliesYeah but April update is so easy. HoW was so easy and TTK wiped it. They put easy content to draw players back in
-
praise bungo

1 Reply2 things, obviously congrats on 335. It does feel like you get more reward for your time now, which is a nice change of pace. Second, play with people man. This game is 1000's of times more fun when you a dedicated to team run through raids, play crucible, and just -blam!- around. I've met some random people on PS that I've got to know pretty well and it just makes the game so much more fun. Congrats on your efforts though.
-
Well done for sticking with it and enjoy!!!
-
Agreed! Thanks Bungie.
-
Got my second character to 335 today. Geez, that 100% infusion was just such an awesome addition to the game.

Edited by MIA Philly: 6/4/2016 9:29:58 PMi'm glad you are having fun and that you hit max level but i just want to point out one thing.... HoW update did this exact same thing. etheric light anyone? PoE was introduced and Etheric light let you go to max right away without releveling items. Ring a bell? it's all a terrible cycle with them and it's why i haven't played in 6 months. IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the new DLC brings new locations, enemies (that aren't reskins) and actual good interesting exotic weapons and armor (and not the stuff we saw in the TTK trailers that they just decided to hold on to for a rainy day)... I will come back. If not i'll wait to see what Destiny 2 has to offer before purchasing it.

I agree. I have been having more fun playing since the update as well. Good Job Bungie.

Edited by MrMadFury20: 6/4/2016 4:22:46 PMThat's awesome. Nothing wrong doing Destiny solo. Glad Bungie fixed the infusion feature. To me that was the best part of the fix.

I definitely feel ya man It really sucked feeling like the only player not running around in decent gear. I still solod the nightfalls prior to April but couldn't get past 300 LL. I love how the new system is set up it makes the game much more enjoyable for solo players. Just still wish they would make an optional group finder in game though.
-
Well done, buddy :) My biggest gripe with Destiny was having to raid over and over and over to get max light.
-
Great post, OP. Optional matchmaking would go along way to making the game more inclusive as well.
-
I can relate. I play solo mostly as well. Except for a few quests and raids, everything can be soloed with enough determination.
-
I play mostly solo, but when I get the chance my friends and I try to raid. I say try, because they're shit and we rarely get passed the war priest.
