I almost play exclusively solo. I'm 35 with family and a kid and a demanding job.
I don't have time to learn to ride and my schedule make social game very hard. My average session of play is less then an hour, and I have no real life friends with a ps4.
So before the April update I quit destiny because I was stuck at 310 light and cut out from most end game content.
Then after the update I come back and...
Thanks to Iron Banner (a couple) I got 325.
Thanks to improved reputation drops I got to 330
Thanks to PoE and CoE i got to 333
Thanks to Sterling Treasures I got my hunter finally looking good (to me obviously, before it was more then one time described like the worst looking hunter in the game.)
Thanks to my new light level I can now solo endgame content like Nightfalls and court of Oryx and I finally made it to 335.
Now I can also enjoy completing missions that was too difficult for me to solo with a low light level.
I just felt to say thanks to Bungie for fixing the experience for casuals like me because I'm now enjoying this game like never before. You got one satisfied customer ready and looking for the next DLC.
Edit: Wow! Solo players are trending! Thanks a lot guys for your participation and appreciation!
Edit 2 : been away a couple of hours and the post blew up! Thank you all guys / ladies for being an awesome community!

So much for that 'fix' cause it will be undone in the 'Rise of Iron' expansion...

165 RepliesCongrats on hitting 335. Glad you are enjoying the April Update changes.

I'm a little disappointed...while I was reading this I thought it was sarcasm...nvm x/

2 RepliesI feel you bro...when people actually have responsibilities its hard to get to max light ..but congrats
-
29 RepliesI'm not a salty person, in all honesty congrats. But Bungie ruined the game a bit by allowing max rank to be obtained so easily. Yes I understand from the solo player side it's a cringe type of deal. You play solo and therefor can't reach max rank, or obtain specific drops via raid, etc etc. However in a game where the main focus is to play with a fire team there's no point for a solo player to be max rank. You have no reason to do end game content since, you CAN'T do them. The easy max level obtaining Bungie did sort of ruined the thrill for most elitist and semi-casual players. Being max level holds nothing that it used to, the raids are normally thrown asunder by 334's who can't raid. Now your argument of doing this for PvP is only accompanied by Iron Banner, where the Light Level curve is barely noticeable. So again, congrats on being 335. But I don't really see the point.

Thanks for the laggy SBMM mess Bungie :)

4 RepliesNot trying to sound like a snowflake but being 320 before the update was actually impressive considering the drop rate would be sh*t all the damn time.

1 ReplyWhere to get 330+ artifact as a solo player?
-
Solo too. Stuck on 329. Haven't had a heavy weapon drop above 314 in 2 mos. need that and a decent artifact to get to 332. After that who knows
-
If Bungie did anything, it wasn't fix Destiny. Nope.
-
Filthy casual scrublords unite!!!
-
Bump from another mostly solo
-
I am a solo Player too, age 45 with job. Just came back After 2 months, was Stuck at 310 but now slowly coming up to 335, with no kings Fall raid.

18 RepliesMaking achieving max light easy mode for casuals did not fix Destiny. There are so many other, bigger problems that are being ignored. The Spring update finally broke my addiction to Destiny. Thank you Bungie.
-
Congrats to you. I personally don't think you should be able to get to max light level in a game without completing end game content. Ie Raid. That's just my opinion and max light is also just a number. Like I said before congrats. You're having FUN and ultimately that's what playing video games is all about.

2 RepliesI play two plus hours a day since alpha and got three characters to 215 - I can't top that at all. Plus there's weapons I can't solo the missions / quest for. So I gave up a little less happy than you. Obviously I have no excuse since you've done it but I honestly feel like I've tried really hard. Just didn't make it on my own. And yes I tried to find teams. I got kicked so many times I gave up. I'm a pretty good player too. Polite. Happy guy. Grats Bro. You've done well.

13 RepliesWhat do you do? In the past two weeks I've only increased from 303 to 307 light
-
congrats

20 RepliesWhat's the point in being 335 if you're a solo player?
-
I agree and I'm not even a solo player. I enjoy having options to gain light in every aspect of the game. I put In almost 3 hours a day into this game and I finally feel like I'm getting the reward content that I deserve.
-
I was solo for a while so I feel you man
-
Congrats but the feeling of completing the game should come from completing end game activities like hard mode oryx or going flawless or getting the best exotics from nightfalls etc. not some useless grinded number bungie decided to implement.
-
Firstly good job. Secondly, now your 335, what do you do? What do you spend time on? Your done. Its like the 3 of coins, it makes everything so easy, there is no challenge. I have avoided the court of Oryx like the plague since april, because once I go there, there is nothing left in this game for me.
-
I'll be your real life friend I have a ps4
-
Awesome story man, congrats

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 6/4/2016 10:49:44 PMSame here. I've always preferred playing solo. I've actually been doing a lot more fireteam stuff since the update, but I reached my level all on my own. I'm actually still 334, though. I have many of every gear type at 335, except a -blam!-ing cloak. I have a surplus of 334 cloaks. :/ I keep telling you guys, RNGesus is a maniacal son of a bitch that shouldn't be trusted. Edit: but, my point is these changes are great. Bungee has been slowly changing things for the better. I went through art school and have always worked in similar fields. I know this stuff takes time. They're moving in the right direction, though.
