4 Dead Obit ranks to go....need advice [Edit: DONE!!]
Hello community
A goal of mine to "finish" year 2 is to get ONE faction to level 25 to get an exotic class item. After a tremendous amount of work I have gotten Dead Orbit on my Warlock to Rank 21. For the last 10,000 exp, can anyone recommend the most efficient method to "grind it out".

Thanks everyone for the advice. Traded my shards for motes. Spent glimmer + ether seed for heavy. Used motes. Traded coins for heavies. Going to grind strikes and get marks.
Edit: did heroic strikes. 1 rank to go!!!!!

1 ReplyMate just buzz off of mayhem clash... Its super fun and games end fairly quickly... Or you could try trials? Games can be pretty quick if your team is good... I'd go with mayhem, you don't even realise how much rep you've gained by the time you take a break from it...

1 ReplyVanguard/crucible rep boosters for rep. Doubles vanguard/crucible and faction rep. Strikes and crucible for farming strange coins (personally strikes were better because blue engrams gave extra sc). Buy nothing but heavy synth from xur. 100 heavy synths to rank up so 100 sc will get you 3 ranks with faction. Dont use anything but heavy synth to level faction.

I have every single exotic class item. I don't spend a single strange coin on anything EXCEPT heavy ammo synths from xur. I do all vanguard bounties on all characters daily. I spend my glimmer on synths. I also farm public events for motes of light. Also, I hadn't spent a strange coin or mote for almost 6 months leading up to taken king so I was able to rank up super fast because I had just hoarded everything

1 ReplyMy Dead Orbit rank is almost level 81. I just use my excess Motes of Light and farmed Materials. Do you have max Glimmer, Ether Seeds, Black Wax Idols? Buy a lot of heavy ammo and give it to your faction. 200 Legendary Marks and nothing to buy? Buy a lot of Materials that Dead Orbit will exchange for rep. Super fast and super easy rep levels. The real number is 33.333333 continued, so round it to 34. 34 Coins = 1 Rank Up. Next is to wear a class item for Vanguard Rep gains and run patrols with friends. The faster you do them, the more efficiently your time is spent meaning you can do more of them. Next is having a Vanguard booster equipped and running Heroic Strikes and completing them. I believe wearing a class item with Vanguard gains + a booster gets you over 200rep each strike. 10 strikes should get you over 2,000rep, but 10 takes awhile.

Buy heavy ammo from Xur. 100 SC will get you 300 ammo synths. 100 synths to rank up once. That's 3 rank ups right there.

2 RepliesDo you have any motes of lite or ascendant shards you can trade into the speaker for motes of lite? I was 7 ranks away from getting to rank 25 on my 3rd character for FWC (already had exotic class items for my other 2 characters). I had a ton of motes so I just used them to rank up. It takes 125 motes to level up 1 rank

You also get engrams that can turn into strange coins or get the coins as a reward themselves. You also gain dead orbit rep while playing the crucible and when opening the packages(I think), level that up even more strange coins. You earn loads of coins playing trials(don't quote me on this)and it's a chance to improve your crucible skill. Xur sells 3 heavy synthesis for 1 strange coin. Each synthesis gives 25 rep, save the coins you've earned from the above, buy the synths, profit. This is the way I'd do it.

I was running through strikes with random people in less than 10 minutes earlier today. Find some people to do that and the last few ranks will fly by. You'll need a vanguard rep booster though.

Honestly there's tons of ways. As some people mentioned, if you have the stuff, materials/coins etc that's a fast easy route. I play mostly crucible, wear a class item that gives extra crucible rep and use boosters when I have them. Just doing that alone I usually rank 2 crucible levels and 1+ faction levels per day playing for a few hours.

Heavy ammo from xur is the MOST efficient way to get faction rep. The coins give three ammo per coin and it takes 100 pakcs to rank up a faction. The coins are obtainable from pretty much anywhere. If xur isnt there, variks, eris, and the gunsmith sell it. After successfully hitting 25 6 times so far, three on my warlock and hunter, I can honestly say that this is the most effective way. If you're broke on the glimmy-glam, head to heroics and use a ghost and pop glimmer boosters frquently. On a side note, make use of super speed runs with vanguard rep booster as the faction rep gained will also double. My two friends and I usually get 8-10 strikes per boost. Just pray Omibitch isnt the boss. Good luck man.

Good luck dude. Like others have surely said, 33 coins = 99 Heavy ammo at Xur = 1 rank. You get 4 coins back from the reward pack, so it's actually 29 coins a rank. Running strikes / crucible with a booster also goes fast (100-130 XP per game for your faction). Do the daily PvE bounties in patrol, while also doing some patrol missions at the same time. Gets you a few hundred XP for your faction quickly and easy. I got the exotic DO cloak on my hunter and exotic NM mark on my titan. Today, I reached rank 25 on my warlock with FWC.. 6 more PvP wins and I've got my final faction exotic.

1 ReplyYou need about 140 strange coins to rank up those last 4 ranks. 33 coins = 99 heavy ammo. 100 ammo is a rank.
