I see it on these forums all the time.
Person A: *says anything*
Person B (who disagrees but can't coherently articulate his feelings): Your KD sucks, kid.
That's not how you argue, just saying.
EDIT: This game is hella casual. Who cares about KD in Destiny?
EDIT 2: FoMan123 gave a brilliant response. Check it out below. Also, we're trending.
EDIT 3: To those commenting on my K/D, which is admittedly negative, you have missed the point entirely. Bad stats in this game don't matter. Good stats don't matter. Only one thing matters: fun. This is not my opinion; this is the way the game was made. It was designed for and marketed to casual players. Anyone who treats it like, CSGO, per say, is delusional.

3 RepliesI'm pretty certain my K/D is total shit, but I'm proud of it.

36 Replies*checks kd* What a surprise. He's negative

What op is is trying to say ^^

K/D is only one piece of an entire system that determines a player's skill level. There are so many factors to consider when trying to judge a player's skill, it's ignorant to base it strictly on K/D.
-
Yeah, it's just kids who want to make noise and make themselves look/feel better if you say something they don't want to acknowledge but can't find fault with. I think my most recent (and baffling) was someone claiming I wasn't good at raiding because I only finished KF once. Everyone knows the first time's the easiest! It really isn't the kind of thing that accurately determines skill anyway. My fire team buddy for instance is very good at contesting and holding zones. He's good at it, but it's riskier than what I do so his KDR is lower than mine (Outside of trials). Despite this I'd rate him at least as good as me.

I only bring up k/d when somone talks all high and mighty about their skill or how they wreck (insert OP gun) users all the time. Bringing up their k/d to counter argue in that situation is perfectly acceptable as it is relevant.
-
When I bring up KD, I do it in an ironic or satirical way. It's fun.
-
I have a shit Kd because I sucked ass in crucible when I started playing Destiny. I had games where I play like 5-19 now I play games like 19-5. But I agree with you sir. It's all about the fun!

6 RepliesI just used KD in an argument on a different post. The OP had posted that Shoulder Charge and Warlock abilities are cheap and too easy to use, saying something about how it's not fair for Hunters. I noted that the OP had a .2+ better KD on his/her Hunter than either his/her Titan or Warlock. If those abilities make things so easy for Titans and Warlocks, why would that be? I feel like that's a valid way to use KD in an argument, what do you think?
-
KD ratio is a generally effective way to gauge skill. Not perfect, though it certainly can give a baseline.
-
Sorry. Ignoring you due to that trash KD.
nah. Good on ya mate. I agree.
-
bottom line is winning, therefore win rate is more important
-
If you had a great k/d your argument would be different.
-
Good point, but too many pipe up with their BS and have to be called out. I remember one legendary reply to a 'random thing is OP' post, that went something like this: "Your KD is 0.8, an ice cream scoop is OP to you"
-
0.87 k/d ratio, bad kid is bad...
-
2 RepliesChecks op's KD* How do you have fun with those stats
-
1 Reply.87 kd opinion invalid
-
my kd is low because i fool around alot, im that guy in crucible who still uses vex mythoclast to just remember year 1
-
2 RepliesEveryone loves their KD. It's the reason for leaving matches when you feel you're going to lose. It's the reason why people ragequit completed matches because they lost, instead of going to the rewards screen. It's why people try so hard to jump around as a Hunter to get an aerial advantage when shotgunning someone. It's even why that one guy left your challenge raid group that you organized from LFG.

K/D is a valid point to bring up if you're talking about how to buff or nerf weapons, or matchmaking. If it's your only argument, you're an idiot. However, it does speak quite a bit for how reliable you are in the Crucible. It shows that you die less than you kill people, which is a really big factor in Trials or even Skirmish matches. If you can't kill people any more than you die, you'd better be damn good at making call-outs. Pretty much the only way you can make up for not being good in gunfights. Now, about your own K/D...
Git gud, skrub. *T- bags*
-
I only complain about people's KD's when they bring up ways to "balance" the crucible and trials which are ridiculous and would only benefit them.
-
Kd shows how often you die thus allowing the opposing team to gather more points to win.
-
But losing no Bueno the more you did the more you lose
-
I said this in another thread to someone talking about getting railed on for low K/D, but I let'em rail. I don't feel any compulsion to measure my genitals. It's a game, not a job interview. Or in the words of an old internet meme: Don't feed the troll.
