The 1000 Yard Stare nerf proves how deluded Bungie is(are).

This is amazing to me. Honestly, I don't even like that sniper and I'm glad I don't because it's not really going to affect me. I'm excited to get my longbow back.
[b]There is [i]nothing[/i] OP[/b] about this weapon. Its aim assist is average and it's a 1-2 shot kill like every other sniper in the game. The reason players feel like they don't have options is not because nothing can compete with 1kys, It's because it is [b][i]by far[/i][/b] the most easily attainable sniper rifle of its archetype. I haven't even seen another TTK sniper of that archetype (I know there are some, they're just much less common).
In Y1, players had the longbow, the LDR, Her benevolence, and shadow of veils (indentical archetype to 1kys), plus other higher impact options like Efrideets spear and black hammer. These were all extremely easy and straightforward to obtain, and the ability to acquire many different types of high impact snipers is what created diversity.
Nerfing 1KYS just makes no sense!! It's not better than the competing snipers! With the addition of the longbow and LDR again, 1kys usage will go down anyways. All they're using is making 1kys worse than the other snipers in its [b]exact same archetype[/b], thereby creating less diversity (cuz no one will use it again).

Bungo doesn't care at all about achieving "balance" in the crucible. They only use these weapon adjustments to push their own agenda and force players to use different weapons. They'll even go so far as to unbalance the game to push their agenda.

5 RepliesI stopped reading at the "it's not op " part. It was, it was over used, and if you didn't have it you were considered a scrub. I can't tell you how many times my friends kicked me because I didn't have it. That sniper deserved worse. It could shut done supers in one shot from across the map. No other weapon does that. People say snipers take skill. Not the 1k stare. Not in my lifetime

It's designed to disrupt the meta crutch most guardians use now of mida and 1kys....hell I use a 170 shadow price and waylorans March or red death and yasmin and don't have a problem...seeing as since 9/10 people use the crutch combo I see why they nerfed it

But now that they released a bunch of better weapons and made a mediocre gun even worse, you are bitching about the changes to this mediocre gun instead of going out and getting one of the new and better guns? [b]Bungo needs to drop PvP completely from Destiny 2.[/b] Make the Crucible its own stand-alone IP. A sister franchise to Destiny, not an affront to it. The Bungie that made Destiny is [i]not[/i] the same Bungie that made Halo 3. Destiny has been out for a year and a half, and they're [i]still[/i] trying to balance PvP. And people are [i]still[/i] complaining. All the while, Bungo have continued to push a PvP-focused agenda, fragmenting the playerbase more and more as they go. The phrase 'wasted potential' gets thrown around a lot when people start discussing the current state of Destiny. There's no reason to expect Destiny 2 will be any different, unless Bungie opts to make some fundamental changes to their practices and their approach to making games. Destiny's PvE has always been solid; Destiny's PvP has always been a mess. Bungie should focus on what they've been doing well, and stop dividing the house of Destiny against itself. Inb4need2edit: to those who want to argue that PvP is what's keeping Destiny alive, it's a moot point. It's like that because Bungo have shat all over PvE and piled their eggs in the wrong basket.

I dont even use 1ky cause i dont like it. I use yasmine as my sniper choice for most of the time. I did find it interesting how fast people jump on certain weapon bandwagons. I do think players that use more than the popular weapons tend to be better and more rounded.

2 RepliesDamn you missed a big problem with what you said. Basically you implied that high impact snipers are all anybody should use. THERE SHOULD BE INCENTIVE TO USE LOW IMPACT SNIPERS. I don't consider your world where every person has a high impact sniper equipped to be a balanced one.

It won't last long soon people will adapt to it and people will be back at calling for another nerf. On the other snipers I use I have noticed a thing maybe a little slow but other wise it was just the 1K stare
