As you scan her, a jolt of pain erupts from your cranium, causing you to recoil back before you could get anything.
"I was merely curious on what you would discuss, but now that you know of my presence you will probably be more secretive. And I don't take to kindly to being scanned.

*a pause, then he speaks again "I see. I understand it can be hard. One of my friends lost all but a few that were close to him. Even after 500 years and being married, the pain is always there. I can always sense it, even though he is a mechanical being. I'm guessing yours was lost to the Federation. That is a recurring event with most of the resistance forces here."-Shadowed One(kindly)
