Stop complaining about snipers

Dear people of the community, Just as the title says; stop complaining about snipers. You people are always looking for something to complain about, just [b]f[/b]ucking accept the fact that you got killed by a sniper. Don't walk into obvious sniper lanes, that's all i can give you. -Sincere, everyone with some human brains. Edit: -blam!-ing bungie always has to add some crazy shit and then bring it back to normal kinda but then worse. They never should've made rerolling a thing, if there was no rerolling, there would've been less shotguns with stupid ass range, which means that there would be less bitching. Jesus christ bungie. Edit 2: love how all people against snipers say that it's so OP just because of the high aim assist (1k stare). F-cking love it.     • The problem with snipers is that even without getting precision kills, their time to kill is much quicker than most every other gun, especially at the range they can do it at. Hitting an enemy with two body shots or using a mix of your primary and a sniper is a very effective (and cheap)tactic. Snipers can have ridiculous target acquisition stats that generously give people hits that they should not have gotten. snipers that ideally should reward a skilled hand with good aim are in actuality allowing players to achieve easy kills that are faster than the time to kill balance that has been achieved throughout other weapons is being offset by people who can just body people with a sniper. What should happen is: -lower rate of fire on snipers to bring down -significantly decrease stability on snipers - slow stow and equip times on sniper rifles This would truly make snipers what they should be, like they are in all other balanced pvp shooters However, that would be a significant change, and really late into the game, and the lower DoF would hurt snipers pve value. So, here is my suggestion for what should happen to snipers that is feasible at this time: - lower aim assist values across the board on sniper rifles -slow equip/stow speeds of snipers, add in delay frames before you can shoot when switching to/from snipers. -lower stability on snipers across the board. This would allow snipers to still be very effective, and reward a skilled hand with true aim, without rewarding those who miss the head and hit body shots so much

      • I don't want snipers themselves nerfed. Because changing the casual mechanics would disrupt the norm of destiny. I do think either the flinch should be increased or less special ammo spawns all around. But, this same mentality is what got shotguns nerfed 6 times. Snipers were just looking for something to complain about. Shotguns in 2.0 were perfectly balanced. 2.1 was overboard.

                Let's take a look at fundamental flaws for snipers: PvE - They consistently outdamage HEAVY weapons which have limited ammo drops in comparison PvP - consistently snipe while under fire (suppressing fire, what's that?) Can easily outgun heavy just like pve Handling stats, aim assist, snapshot/quickdraw perks too high/too much on high impact archetype Good at all ranges if you can quickscope They need to cap aim assist for each rate of fire type on snipers. Make the highest rof ones have highest aim assist and handling and lowest rof the hardest to handle without snapshot/quickdraw rollable on them to balance archetypes.

                • Do sniper rifles not believe in flinch? It is completely ridiculous that a sniper that is in pulse rifle range can hard scope head shot me when I'm landing nothing but crit shots with high caliber rounds! There should be more severe flinch when you are closer to the people shooting you. I accepted the fact that the only way to challenge snipers long range is maybe with a scout and even then it is difficult with the limited flinch. I'm not saying snipers should be nerfed, but something needs to make snipers less competition at ranges where they should be incredibly difficult to use. In other popular shooters like halo and COD they have made counters to the people who pitch tents. In CoD it was weapon swing and in halo it was descoping. While I don't have a problem with people hard scoping there should be a counter to it. Which leads me to the best solution in my opinion which is just making snipers descope when they are shot at. It allows snipers to hard scope at long range and still be affective, but they can be harassed and be made to change tactics when they are battling a skilled rifleman at range. The change also makes using snipers at close ranges impractical which solves yet another problem. That's my grief with snipers.

                    "Don't walk into *obvious sniper lanes." Translation: Don't move when you respawn because literally every part of every map is now a "Sniper Lane," due to the fact that nobody can figure out how to use a Primary. Edit: I added the word "obvious" to the quote, as the author requested, even though it has absolutely no impact on the point made.

                    • The funny part is countering the stand still hard scopers is extremely easy. I don't get why people cannot figure it out. It's the people who are on the move with a sniper and can quickscope you need to worry about.

                          • Personally it's not the gun itself. I'm sure sniping takes skill and even with aim assist I'm nowhere near as good a sniper as some others. The problem is reducing the range for pulses meaning the only way to compete with a sniper is either a scout rifle or another sniper, especially now they've reintroduced the larger maps like first light. I'm using a scout and not having too much trouble but anyone using autos, hand cannons or pulses now have large no go areas on the maps, sometimes almost half the map

                            I love how people say don't walk into sniper lanes. No shit, except everything can be a sniper lane unless you're hiding somewhere.

                            • snipers will always be prevalent. What needs to be done is keep the reward on precision, while reducing the reward for non precision, and make it more unwieldly. 3 shot body shot 1 shot headshot (i have no real opinion on rez sniping) slower movement and/or turn speed while sniper is out. slower readying speed

                            • They are too easy to use. End of story. No more ambush aka red dots on snipers, add sway, descope on being hit or something, remove aa so you can come around a corner w/o getting insta sniped - all they do is put it at head level and wait and aa will follow far enough to make the shot. Bottom line, they need to be put back to being a long range weapon instead of a primary from 5 ft away and increase disadvantage vs primaries in that range.

                            • Gotta agree. I can't snipe at all. Hand me one and I'll die. My sniper is named "Jade Rabbit" aha However I feel that this same arguement should be applied to shotguns. Snipers are made for one shot precision kills from a distance in real life; destiny reflects that. Shotguns are made for close range one shot kills; destiny reflects this. If you don't wanna be sniped; stay out of sight lines. If you don't wanna get blown to bits by q shotgun; keep a distance with the enemy. Simple
