Mini Crota dude on daily?
Doing the daily today and after dismantling the third piece I decided to take a short cut across the court of Oryx. When I did the guy that looks like Crota spawned and 2 yellow bar witches.
I'm sure someone else probably knows what the deal is but, I've never seen it before. I was soloing it and by the time I finally got the 2nd witch down the mini-Crota guy dissapeared. Do you get something for defeating him? Should I come back with a fireteam and try it?
Edit: majority opinion seems to be:
1) it's an Easter egg type thing/ giving a preview of tier 3 CoO;
2) no sword bearer spawns and there is no known way to kill him

It's been like that on TTK day one. It's just a tease for when he is in tier 3 court of Oryx.

1 ReplyWhat if there is a sword bearer somewhere when he summons. There are alot of platforms that lead to the court. My thinking is skip shooting the weapon orbs and go right to the court wait for him to spawn. Then go back, maybe after an orb is scanned a sword bearer appears? I think im going to give it a go.

Patrol the dreadnaught. use antiquated rune on court of oryx area. n Thalnuk(crota wannabe) will appear. swordbearer in mid area will also spawn. i recommend 4 or 5 people try it. its really hard to kill.

I saw him there and was way too low level to do anything the first time (didn't know anything about the sword bearer at the time). Later I found out about Court of Oryx and had just assumed that somebody must have spawned him while I was nearby and I missed them.

He has always appeared during that mission. You can't kill him, though. The sword knight never spawns and he just leaves when you're about to make him kneel.

Okay so that guy is sorta a hint by the developers of what to expect in CoO. You can only defeat him in patrol and is just a sort of Easter Egg, for lack of a better word.

That's always been there if you wandered over that way, you can't kill him because there is no swordbearer. That enemy also spawn in tier 3 court of oryx it's basically just the Crota fight in a smaller area. You can't actually defeat him in the daily though.

Swordbearear spawns in with him and 2 witches. Kill both witches, then the swordbearer. Then shoot "mini crota" till he goes down. Pick up sword and start slamming him. Takes about 2 runs if you have a team. Alittle bit longer if solo'd
