Microtransactions cosmetic only? Not anymore!

Now we need to spend real money to complete the Halloween quests. It sure must be a lovely holiday... at lest for Bungie who gets to rip it's entire playerbase who already spent a shitload on this game off. EDIT: Lol, with this many idiots defending Bungie it will only be a matter of time before you can use Silver to upgrade light levels on items as well. EDIT 2: It appears you don't HAVE to buy the items with real money. You do have to grind A LOT to complete the quests if you don't however. This is not "purely cosmetic" and is most likely just the start as they're trying to see how far they can go with these micro transactions without losing their playerbase. In the future we can thank all the retards who spend money on this for the fact that most things in the game will be available at the speed it takes to process your credit card. However much hate I may have for Bungie, I do wish to thank them for the mute system though. It's like insecticide against retarded teenagers. Thank you for a cleaner forum. EDIT 3: About an hour and fifty odd dipshits muted I realize I've spent way too much time posting here, so I'm officially stopping right here and won't be posting more comments. Not that it's been much of a point anyways since an adult conversation is impossible on these boards and I've been forced down to the level of those whom I've muted more than once.

    • Buy cosmetic items to complete quests that offer cosmetic items and then rage about it. Seems legit

    • The thing is that it isn't pay to win, and you seem to have it backwards.. They're pretty much selling cosmetic items for silver, and then offering a free way to obtain those cosmetic items instead. The way to complete the quests should be difficult enough to attract a good number of people to buy silver instead, while keeping the quest still simple enough for people who don't buy it to be able to complete it. It's a perfect way to use microtransactions for an event like this, and anybody who thinks otherwise is either uninformed or stubborn.

Totally agree. This is "just the tip", if it goes in easy and people don't complain and yell, then it's just a question of time before your bent over a table.

    • There is not one single item with light level from this whole event. Try to have some damn fun, don't be an Eris. I know I'm getting on later to grind the piss out of this event, not one dollar spent.

      • I've easily gotten quite a few of the masks and I only filled the candy bags doing tasks I already need to do anyways. Don't think i'll have to spend any silver to get this all done by the way it is going so far. Those new emotes are pricey though

      • The thing is, the rewards for the Halloween thing are cosmetic, unless you count glimmer farming things, but we all have thousands of those anyway

      • They are doing what warframe does. You can obtain the gear through grinds (one or two crucible matches gets a bag of candy) or you can take the easy way

        • OP seems to think this is a "pay to win" thing, but doesn't seem to realize that the only rewards are masks that take up your helmet slot and offer nothing toward your character's growth. Conclusion? OP is an idiot.

Don't forget that you get 2 pieces of candy (temporary buffs) from those Treasure Of The Lost packages at Eververse. That alone makes me highly alarmed and very concerned.

              • Quests are cosmetic and give cosmetic items. Nobody is winning by paying for them.

                • It is purely cosmetic. You don't get anything out of the quests besides the masks.

                • He makes a point. A pay to win strategy means paying cash to skip the real grind in order to obtain items. Normally it refers to gear that makes you stronger but you are paying to skip it. This isn't that much different. Either grind for hours trying to get a specific item or pay for it and hope you get lucky

                  • If you say you hate Bungie, then why do you spend time on these forums? Obviously if people want to spend money on the game (it's still cosmetics) they'll spend money on the game. I don't know why that is your issue, but I'd like to think I'm not a retard because I put money into a game I enjoy.
