RIP Gjallarhorn
For those of us having played this game for days, weeks, months, and throughout this past year, we have achieved much. And what greater achievement is there than to get an exotic that's amazing and awesome and one you never had before? Well, with the sale of Gjallarhorn by Xur once more, that sense of achievement for the many of us that have invested a lot of time into this game for those drops has been taken away. The hundreds of people with their brand new G-horns did not earn it. They did not get to blow their friend's speakers out in exultant joy over getting the drop of drops. The ultimate weapon.
And they will never truly get to experience what it can do because it, like many of the other good things in this game, will be taken away from us and nerfed. I hope, for the sake of much of your gaming community Bungie, that The Taken King will live up to the hype you've given it, because for many of us, it's your last chance to prove that Destiny will truly help you become legend.

I've had gjallarhorn for 6 months. Here's a secret: Nobody earned it. If you had it you were ridiculously lucky and probably spent a lot of time in raids. I'm sorry you're not a special, unique little snowflake anymore. You'll need to find a new reason to barre people from doing raids with you. I know what you mean about the excitement of getting a drop like ghorn. But it isn't really "earned". My brother and I have been playing since the beta and he has watched me get more than one ghorn while he got stuck with ascendant materials and strange coins. The luck isn't the same for everyone. Just be happy for your fellow guardians who get to experience the greatness of this weapon before the nerf.

Anybody that did not buy GHorn simply got lucky with a good drop. If your playing a game for any reason other than the joy of playing, you are bound to be disappointed sooner or later.

8 RepliesI bought mine yesterday. I had given up worrying about it after getting hunger a couple weeks ago, but this post and similar comments raise a potentially touchy issue. Those of us that have played for countless hours and were not blessed by rngesus, and had to buy the ghorn, would appreciate an adequate chance to experience it the same as everyone else. We paid our $100 too, and now that you have given us this weapon bungie, let us use it for awhile. Don't nerf it in 2 weeks or so. Don't make it useless after ttk. Give us a chance to experience it. Don't slap us in the face by gifting it just to immediately take it away.

It's funny ppl said TDB was last chance for bungee it was a flop then ppl said HOW due to season pass and the lag of Osiris isn't very desired, now we're on to taken king? After that it'll be the next expansion so forth lol. Everyone who claims it's the last chance have no clue and are just talking out of their arse. As far as gjally goes, why are you that self centered to act like no one else earned it? You think because ppl haven't played as much as you (So you presume) and haven't had luck to get it for a drop that it's not earned? The only true "earning" in of the word itself is xur and exotic bounties as it requires you to actually do stuff to earn it rather than being completely lucky. I'm always happy when someone even if it's not my friends getting something and brings them joy. It's a game I got everything and even when I didn't it's fun seeing others happy too. No one cares about "exclusivity" or " I earn the right to use no one else may even look at it". Be happy and move the hell on self centered snowflake. As bad as the flaws bungie has in destiny, you and the rest of the snowflake community are much worse. When you can prove that you "earned" it over someone else I'll consider changing my mind but until you have more of everything than every single person in destiny I doubt you can prove anything. Ps on a side note I helped a friend and a random do Skolas 35 today, and while I find him easy and just monotonous they're not as good, quick reaction players. They are just run of the mill average shoot every so often players and while we struggled at Skolas to the point they wanted to quit, I told them 1 more round and they were able to complete it for moments of triumph. I gained nothing but some time wasted just to help them. Maybe if you want to feel you earned something you'd use it to help others before crying im a little snowflake short and stout here is my faucet here is my tears....

8 RepliesA level 4 dreg dropped a legendary engram, while I was on patrol, that engram decoded into a G'horn. I SO earned the hell out of it. Level 4 dregs are so damn tough, I really deserved to be rewarded. Then I ran a few level 32 & 34 PoE and earned some strange coins. I used said coins to buy my 2nd G'horn but I totally did NOT earn that one. It was given to me by Xur because of my lack of ability to "earn" it. The one from the level 4 dreg should do more damage or have additional buffs or something. There's no way that coins earned by running the weekly heroic or PoE should match the glory of the weapon I had drop from that level 4 dreg. I was a Destiny GOD that glorious day, and a rotten scrublord when I took down level 34 Qodron.......#notears

Tell me. How is it a bad thing? I thought a gally was necessary to get enough firepower to defeat Crota. So that means more people in a raid with gallys which means more overpowered rocket launchers against one boss making the raid or whatever much easier and more efficient. That's a good thing. I understand you put in lots of effort and I have nothing against it. Just think of the big picture. Not just yourself. Also. TTK may add weapons that are more powerful and don't forget The Great Nerf in September.
