Just want to see. People seem to be pissed off about not keeping old weapons when most MMO's do this.

Guild Wars 2 ntroduced a collection system. Where if you find any weapon or armor it automatically stores the skin into a bank. From there you can transmog any of your weapons or armor with any of the skins that you have found. Bungie should take this but store the full weapon plus its unique specs into a bank. This can also be a means of introducing more vault space.

You should add a 3td option to poll "What's an MMO?"

1 ReplyEdited by MacheteSquad: 8/5/2015 11:16:03 PMDestiny should not be classified as a MMOFPS it just shouldn't. It has certain elements in common with a MMO but its not an MMO. Go to any "social" hub in a real MMO and tell me what you see that's different. First off lets just use The Hall of Doom in DC Universe Online you will see easily 5-10 times as many people in that one place than you will see in any one place in all of Destiny including crucible with both teams counted as one number. The size of the same space is also greatly bigger you could probably fit 5 Towers into just The Hall of Doom. There is in game chat functionality actually being used whether through mics or text channels, no going to an outside source for LFG just hop into the LFG channel and type what you are looking for. Those are just a few without even touching on instances and honestly DCUO is tiny compared to WoW or EQ. Those are all much more Massively Multiplayer than Destiny. Destiny is a shared world shooter not an MMO. So your poll should be phrased more along the lines of "Have you played an MMO before?" I just want this Destiny is an MMO stuff to stop, It's not an MMO.

4 RepliesMost MMO'S though have a lot more content wise. You also don't have to constantly grind out upgrades/reforge/e light your weapons. I was fortunate to get a hopscotch pilgrim pretty quick after house of wolves dropped. I reforged it tons of times constantly going broke. I leveled it/tested perks 3 times until I liked what I had for certain. Finally..ascended it. And once again..bungie backpedals and I had still better be able to use it. I also never ran Crotas end figuring the stuff would be useless too soon when a new expansion came out. They had said legendary items would not be upgradeable. They back pedaled so I ran Crotas end. I just last week ascended the arc pulse rifle. Now they backpedal again to no upgrading. I'm going to just check back periodically and see if they ever figure out how to make a game. No -blam!-ing way am I paying the 40 dollars for nothing near a full game and this kind of ignorance. They are way out of touch no matter how much they claim they play this game. They care about money and not quality is the impression I get.

People are making a big deal out of this! "I want to use the same weapons for ten years and not have any variation." Get over it. I just got a fatebringer and black hammer and I'm not even mad that they will become obsolete. There will definitely be a new fatebringer, black hammer m, HoC, and Voc with the release of TTK.

Well, I will be getting rid of the majority of my weapons. Just not my 'The Chance'. Keeping her until year 10 ;)

Yeah no. Most MMO's either have transmog for aesthetics or special material quests to upgrade old gear somewhere down the line. At least, most good ones.
-
1 ReplyHaha. This almost mirrors the ratio of another poll asking who is upset about guns being left behind and those who aren't upset. Those who play mmos totally get it obviously.

3 RepliesThis is not an mmo, quit pretending like it is.

5 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 8/6/2015 2:57:01 AMProper MMO's introduce fun, exciting, worthwhile new equipment that doesn't make players feel bad about putting down their old gear with each expansion. Destiny does not. For some reason, a lot of people don't seem to understand this concept.
-
Yall know what MMO stands for?
-
Nope. I'm totally fine with moving on from year one gear.
