Edited by Swift: 8/4/2015 1:32:02 AM"Yes" and "For PVE and PVP" are basically the same choice. Not for raids..."okay guys time to wipe", but maybe for story missions and strikes.

I don't agree with kd. I have a .9 on my warlock which is also my day one warlock. I hate pvp but I can still go flawless or come out on top if I want to. Kd doesn't always mean something
-
I think the new indicator of skill should be matches spent trying to have fun with No Land Beyond. By all means, take pride in your high KD...just don't fool yourself into thinking it makes you a god.

4 RepliesEdited by WurstGulasch_111: 8/2/2015 6:16:27 PMApparently Nobody is aware of that there also is a good PvE kd indicator: Your kd in PoE Challenge modes (32, 34, 35) Since you constantly wipe in raids, and Not take strikes or patrol seriously, this is the only number that reflects your Performance in PvE.

1 ReplyWtf "for pve only" ???
-
Edited by RPritt: 8/3/2015 5:23:58 PMI don't think kd matters at all IMO. I go for high score every game. Also, I love doing different load outs, challenges like grenades only, melee only, etc. I only try hard in trials.
-
As long as your above a 1.0 your good lol
-
4 RepliesMy kd in control is like 1.2 and I'm like top 5 in caps and neutralising, and top 10 in offensive and defensive kills. So by the kd you'd think I'm just OK, but I do a little bit of everything and am much more productive than the guy with no caps and goes 20-5.
-
2 RepliesPvp k/d is an indicator of skill, but not THE indicator of skill. There are always exceptions to somebody having a lower k/d but still just as skilled as others.
-
KD doesn't matter to me. Oh you are 10-0 nice camping no wonder wee are losing in control
-
Edited by ItsYourLandlord: 8/2/2015 9:57:28 PMThere's also a combat rating... I think that matters a bit more for pvp, but I care about my kd. I manage to keep it high and have fun lol
-
I have to say it does in PvP. Better KD = more kills, less deaths = more points for your team while less for the opposing team. But I don't get a big head about it. I play with anyone just for the sake of having fun.
-
I can promised you that my social area kd is better than all you scrubs
-
1 ReplyIt's really just bragging rights. Granted, mine isn't much to brag about.
-
Of course it matters. Fun also matters though. Some can manage to do both, everyone else just says excuses for why theirs suck. Hence why I'm working on mine
-
3 RepliesNo I generally look at a person's division or their recent games. Here is why KD can be misleading. When I started destiny I was horrible. Now I have worked my way to alot better. Not saying I'm good but I'm alot better than before. Now because of all those deaths I racked up when I was really bad my kd doesn't actually represent me today.
-
It matters but it doesn't necessarily measure true skill. My KD is only a mere 2.75 I believe, but if I played in day 1 how I do now then it would be way more inflated
-
If we're playing a killing only mode, then yes I would look at it, but if we're playing control and you capture zones with a so-so K/D then I wouldn't mind
-
6 RepliesIt matters in both! If you have bad kd habits in pve it will carry over to pvp!
-
6 RepliesI prefer a K/D spread over a K/D ratio.
-
So many replys o.o
-
Yes kd matters its not a make or break factor but it matters imo
-
It doesn't matter, but you CAN get a basis for a skill level. However looking at all stats not just k/d is what I do.
-
As long as I'm enjoying myself I couldn't care less.
-
Lol....bahahahahahaha...not at all

Edited by Dude_from_Krieg: 8/2/2015 5:35:11 PMk/d does matter and i'm average player working on it... when i first started, i had no clue nor did i care about k/d. BUT after a throwing my body at the other team time and time again, i realized i was giving them points and the victory! not cool in control! so, slowly but surely, i'm getting it positive and doing the best i can to get the team the win! HUA!! my answer: it only matters in pvp! EDIT: k/d does show skill but it's more about situation awareness and strategy!
