I mean yeah, it's difficult, very difficult. But I think the Souls fans overhyped the difficulty. I thought the difficulty was perfect when it comes to hard difficulties. Difficult, but not insane.
Example: I was easily able to kill Father Grisgone (probably misspelled that but I'm too lazy to check) on my first try, with plenty of blood vials to spare.
Edit 1: I just got to the Unseen Village and Cainhurst Castle. I was wrong. I was so very wrong.
Edit 2: I beat the game! Now to play again to get the other endings and holy crap this'll never end will it

Edited by DjNormal: 5/16/2015 9:26:32 PMIt isn't so much hard as it forces you to learn from your mistakes and requires some tactical thinking. I have my usual spiel about being a Souls virgin venturing into Bloodborne. I raged, I calmed down, I persisted and I fell in love. Now I have all the games. I've always considered myself a casual gamer with intermediate skill. Yet, I've managed to conquer anything that the Souls games have thrown at me. That said, I'm not playing through NG+7 or doing SL1 speed runs or anything.

1 ReplyWait until you get to nightmare of mensis and defiled chalices
-
6 RepliesUnseen Village was easy imo It's like Blight Town in the sense you just have to sprint through The hunter gank squad was easy if you killed tonitrus guy first, beast claw dude 2nd, and then cannon bitch 3rd via parry Cainhurst was only hard for me due to those flea women. Seriously, -blam!- them
-
Not as hard as dark souls
-
I found the first 2 or 3 bosses hard but once I got that great sword I did every boss first time
-
I just got to the Unseen Village and Cainhurst Castle. I was wrong. I was so very wrong. Lolol
-
1 ReplyI just got my platinum faster than it took me to beat the first dark souls...
-
5 RepliesFinished my lvl 4 playthrough. It was more difficult than lvl1 DS2, but not as difficult as DS1. As for playing the game " normally "... Not hard. If matchmaking was better, low level duellers would have added difficulty.
-
14 RepliesThe final boss is easy.
-
2 RepliesDepth 5 chalice dungeons... on par, if not harder then the souls games
-
1 ReplyI beat the game in 21 hours I beat NG + in 24 hours after that I platinum'd the game exactly 7 days after release. It was really short, but I wouldn't say it was easy. It's definitely a Souls game and IMO the motto "if at first you don't succeed, die, die, die, die, die, die, and die, again" works pretty well with it.

8 RepliesI'm thinking about giving this a try. If anyone recommends it, please comment.

Blood was my first soul Game had a hard time got half way through and then started to play souls 1 and 2 came back to blood and breezed through it no problem and was like that way easier. I prefer shield over gun tho.

This is my first try with one of these games and it has taken some getting used. Just killed cleric beast on my second try and lvled up to 18. Every encounter takes a second but once I have killed something once they aren't nearly as hard as before. The first loop you do yhatnham took me forever but now I can breeze through and kill everything with ease. Starting to see why ppl love from software games.

3 RepliesThat edit though ahaha!!

2 RepliesRoflcopter goes *fwut fwut fwut fwut*
-
Once you get the hang of it it gets easier. I seemed to struggle with the bosses most people breezed past.
-
3 RepliesEdited by lone record: 5/15/2015 5:33:41 AMTrue. Original souls is way harder. Until you get astorias sheild haha
-
I killed most bosses in ng in 1-4 tries, and it took me a month to get the platinum trophy. Never played a souls game before, so yeah, the difficulty was very hard, but not insane
-
5 RepliesWell yeah it's going to be easy to people who have played the souls series lol duh.
-
1 ReplyXbox one woooooo!oh wait this have a bunch of people that play ps4, oh ummmmm well then (ur lucky i didn't say u guys r Sony ponies)
-
I ran past some areas because of poison and rage. Platinum tho
-
True. I was able to beat 80% of the bosses on my first try without me being over powered
-
1 ReplyIt was challenging, yes, but it's also very fair on you. Just like with the Souls series. That said, -blam!- the Unseen Village and -blam!- the Nightmare of Mensis. Those areas are a pain.
-
8 RepliesAbout that edit: as many have said about lets players on youtube and anyone who questions the struggles we face in this game, "Martyr Logarius will teach them about difficulty and frustration, only those skilled enough will get their reward." That and hunters are a B!TCH to kill sometimes, specially when they're in groups. >:T those ganking mofos.

Unseen Village
Is a pain because
Everything just respawns. Caught me off guard the first go around.
I would say... more forgiving. Technically that's easier, right?
