Nope. Not wrong you do no extra damage so why the hell would it matter? Thats what im saying.
Being a 30 or a 32 in old content is all the same shit.
Having the right guns is a totally different story.
Being 32 is nothing Special. Since they made gear drop like candy. Had my gear in two weeks of this expansion that must mean im elite and not a scrub!

For example lets say 2 players start from level one, one buys vanguard in a week and the other spends 3-4weeks to gain raid gear. The first in 31 and the other is 32. Obviously the 32 has more skill and experience because he has more play time and a higher level to show for it. The 31 on the other hand is just walking target. Yes a level 26 can be better then a 32 but, you're talking about the minority there. Look at the big picture.
