Hoc is great if you wanted to use a different slot for the exotic but ghorn is definitely better

I agree kinda with Ghorn which I have. In no way does Hunger of Crota = baby Ghorn. now hear me out, before roasting, and be open minded. I wont include the facts that one is exotic and other legenday. So here goes. GHorn & Hoc= solar, Ghorn& Hoc = tracking. ghorn& Hoc=2 rockets before reload Hoc= + dmg hive majors/ultras+ cluster bombs Ghorn= wolfpack rounds ( homing cluster) Now in my eyes ghorn is near perfect, in that most instances the wolf pack rounds will hit target a vast majority of time, however target can get lucky and outrun the WPRs. (*cough *crota). now if the WPRs hit also then Ghorn wins as pure dps overall. Now for Hoc. Cluster bomb: which not all the clusters will hit target , usually get a few max. however thanks to Hive disrupter , the HOc does do more damage on the main explosion . (excluding CBs) which a fair amount can miss due to most putting the perk to increase blast radius of overall clusterbomb radius. Overall, I would pick ,Ghorn due to above. thoughts opinions, agreements, etc. not bashing hoc. i want one too just so i can use my IB or Red death/suros.

Gjallarhorn is 100% a PvE weapon.

So many of the raid weapons are so good that hey rival the exotics anyway. So to waste the exotic slot on gally isn't such a big deal anymore.

I don't think it's a "waste" but it is not a cheat code like the cult says. It does decimate high value targets, but other than that it is no different than another rocket launcher. Waste is too strong though. I hold it on my hunter and it works well anyway.

I agree with you to an extent. I've had Gjallarhorn almost since launch and have a few points to make. PvP: Hunger of Crota will absolutely not do Gjallarhorns job in PvP because Gjallarhorn has proximity detonation(hidden perk) and Hunger doesn't. But I agree with your other points. Truth is much better in PvP and Gjallarhorn is not good enough to use instead of Thorn, Vex, Suros, PI... etc... I never use Gjallarhorn in PvP. PvE: If you're using Gjallarhorn in a Void/Arc nightfall you just aren't very smart to begin with (generally speaking). In all other aspects, Solar nightfalls, bounties, all raids, and anything else really, is where Gjallarhorn shines. Sure, there are places here and there where other exotics are better situationally, but in most cases, it doesn't get better than Gjallarhorn.. For example: VoG: Confluxes- clear mobs, Templar- Quick kill, Oracles- one shot kill as a backup plan if you get in trouble, Gorgons- free grimoire :), Gatekeeper- best and quickest way to solo one side, Atheon- second best way to kill atheon (all black hammers are ideal) Crota: Lamps- Icebreaker is better, except at the end at the bridge. Bridge- Gjallarhorn: drops swordbearer quickly. Shreiker room: 1 shots them. Deathsinger: Obviously the best weapon to use. Crota: Best weapon to bring down Crota, and as a sword carrier to bring down the swordbearer. Pretty much the whole VoG is easier/more efficiently beat if you have Gjallarhorn. Remember, Gjallarhorn was so popular when VoG was the only raid and people would sometimes only allow people in that had it. It was a game breaking weapon in VoG and still is today. In Crota's End it is definitely the best weapon to use as well. The gun is, like it or not, the best PvE gun in the game. There's no arguing. And if there is one gun that most people can consider the best gun in the game I think that can be considered game-breaking. Don't you?

Truth can be replaced by gally in crucible, but any legendary rocket with tracking doesn't have proximity like gally does. It isn't a perk on the rocket, but it's definitely there. I've gotten 50 kills with gally in a combined arms game. I can't do that with hunger of Crota. Now hurry up and get the damn Gjallarhorn!

Agreed its an awesome single target weapon. However I find HoC better for general use.

If everyone on your fireteam had a jelly EVERYTHING would be easier, strikes, nightfalls raiding. All boss fights instantly become easier. Most rocket launchers are used solely for that purpose anyway. Grenades deal with groups of adds. Boss mean the most in this game, therefore the jelly deserves it's hype.

you go take out sword bearer in crota hard with any other rocket launcher - will watch you shoot him 12 times and him kill you - you are an idiot or one of the guys not have one - i got 2 - are the ONLY rocket launcher - seen it in my 600 hours of gameplay - over and out

I got through 700 or so hours just using Truth and Thunderlord Gjallerhorn is a great weapon but there seems to be this hype that it's the be all end all. Maybe with Solar burn yeah but with Void burn and Truth you can still end fights pretty quick IMO some form of Wolfpack rounds would benefit Truth and give it the edge, which would make more sense as its a futuristic type of weapon, at least the design and targeting reticule is

Disagree, As an objective view of what makes a weapon god-tier or gamebreaking, like the horn, looking at situations that don't pose any challenge doesn't make sense. If you say horn is nothing special at low health Trash mobs, so what? No need for any op weapon for situations that are not challenging anyway. Literally a khvostov could do the job. The challenging situations in game is where the horn shines like no other weapon. There are so many situations where the Horn is just the way to go. From a pve perspective, I can only Imagine the black hammer of being as gamebreaking as the Horn, but that's only for certain bosses (or if you are Chuck Norris and headshot everything). In those (pve) situations where the weapon loadout becomes relevant, 90% of the time the Horn will be the best choice

Burst damager extraordinaire. Thats what it is. Nothing else comes close. Putting out as much dps in as short a time as possible. Its a mob clearer and boss burner. It wouldn't break the game if everyone had one but it'd make boss fights cake. O.P truth doesnt have better tracking both are equal. They're both better than every other tracking launcher (aggressive tracking vs tracking). People saying icebreaker is better use of an exotic surely realise b.h and e spear hit harder than that and can both be refilled using icebreaker? You dont run around with an empty ghorn you put it on when needed. Either picking up ammo or using a synth. A shoot to loot gun helps alleviate the need for icebreaker too

Don't have one myself but have see it in action and it is impressive. That being said, I struggle to imagine giving up my exotic slot for a heavy weapon. Exception obviously being bosses or other extreme circumstances. Perhaps I'm wrong but I doubt I would have it equipped that often

I've been playing since the beta used all kinds of rockets pretty much all of them, for the first time in this weeks nightfall I finally got the best rocket in the game and I have to say by far the gjallarhorn is absolute best for anything on pve. Wolf pack in the house

A titan with ruin wings basically makes the Ghorn a facemelter. You have so much rockets that everything just dissapears infront of you. No other Rocket launcher does the job as well as Ghorn. Sorry but just no! It's not situational, it's amazing for just about anything. Even using it without ruin wings, it's still worth the exotic slot any time of the day.

Gjallarhorn best weapon in game and you dont have it hahahaha
