Just saying, you have been working so hard to get that lvl32 gear leveled up so quickly..
Then HoW comes and Casuals will buy their way up to lvl33..
You have 3 options.. Go to the HoW raid as lvl32 characters.. Or also buy your lvl33 stuff and enter the raid same level as Casuals.
Or you burn out and quit destiny, Which one is it for you?
My point is... Dont rush up. There is no need to be at the top of the peak.. Play at your own pace and enjoy destiny for years.
Rush up, and you will burn out.
EDIT 1:
Also, Grinding is a bit less Grindey when done a little less.. Hence you can enjoy the game more.
Wife/Girlfriend/family/friends/name your activity will also be happier. Its a Win/Win situation really.
EDIT2: GOOD news! Designer Luke Smith has commented something related to the release of HoW.

EDIT3: IT HAS STARTED TO HAPPEN SOONER THAN I THOUGHT!

Upgraded sword breaker instead of hitting Lvl 32 cause I thought rushing to it was stupid
-
Hard Mode = Hard Core. Hard Core players are not quitters, and thrive on diversity.
-
I'll pay CE hard, and get cool weapons. When HOW comes out I'll buy new vendor gear. Has nothing to do with burning out.

Edited by Sithisvoid666: 1/20/2015 4:29:49 PMLol I'll surpass them again immediately. Grind is grind

4 RepliesWho sais that the new lvl will be 33 or 34? Never saw a Statement from Bungie
-
I'll be happy I was full tower gear day 1 dlc. I'll do that again next expansion :)
-
I'm in it for the grind

3 RepliesWhile i understand that there has to be a progression system like the one they used, no matter how you put it they did mess up by putting everyone to the same level, as soon as that 31 gear drop it was available to everyone and in that i mean everyone had the same set of obstacles to get it, and that includes people who werent 30, they should have made 31 available for 30's only, once you hit 30 you can go ahead and buy the 31, thats true progression.

I play because i think its fun. I will raid tomorrow because its fun. If i still think its fun when HoW comes out i will just get the new vanguard gear and level it up. I dont have any choice to make right now.

69 RepliesEdited by rmbadd: 1/20/2015 3:01:11 PMYeah here's the process since you and many others don't seem to get it. I'll start with vault of glass, going back to the beginning so try to keep up. Vault of glass normal gave you gear to reach level 30 so you could comfortably do hard mode vault of glass. Now after vault of glass came crota's end. With crota's end came vendor gear that could get you to level 31 to make crota's end normal more comfortable. So you could get the gear to help you hit level 32 to be able to do hard mode crota. And after crota they will release gear to let you go up another level so you can do house of wolves raid more easily. Then in that same raid they will give you the gear to hit another level to do the hard mode. I don't see why all these kids are crying about this. It's call progression people. Stop playing the game if you don't like it. I guess you would rather have hit level 30 back in October and that's it? Keep the same weapons and armor for 3 years? Get real scrubs. And you kids keep crying about casuals just waiting until the next expansion drop and just advancing levels that way? And advising people just to stop raiding and just level that way? Well then you miss out on the best content the game has to offer. So that's the trade off. Yeah, casuals can rank up some too, but at the end of the day the Raiders are a higher level and getting more content out of the game. If all this still doesn't make sensw, feel free to contact me as I can try and simplify if further for you people.

Gonna wait for my level 33 gear. I played VoG to the peak. Had the hard raid trophy when about 0.4% of the population had it. Played CE a few times. Didnt really want to do the chore of grinding resets every week three times for shards. Will play HoW once or twice after it comes out probably. But Im stick to dragon age for now XD.
-
Lol dude it was the same when crota came out ain't no one quitting stop bitching
-
Or I can play the game and not care how people lvl up
-
Good point

I like how destiny is very addictive but when it comme to dlc... It feel's more like a chore!

What's funny to me is I have been playing destiny since alpha and beta and capped at level 8. Then when the real game came out I capped at 30 and beat VOG for all the guns and gear (which I still don't have all of). Now i have capped at 32 and do Crotas end for all the weapons again. Hell I even did iron banner for the first time last week and bought the arms plus some weapons. I say all of that to say this, if I hadn't put in time like that in the beginning I would not have had such an easy time doing CE or Ib. New guys may be able to buy gear ( and even that's not entirely true without them grinding like beasts every week and capping Vanguard Marks) but they will have such an incredibly hard time completing missions compares to someone like me who has done it all and experienced it all.

1 ReplyHave they confirmed a light level change yet or are we just assuming?
-
well tbh there isn't that much to do in destiny apart from getting gears and etc.
-
I didn't quit before so why would I now?
-
Already getting bored of Destiny so probably burn out lol.

6 RepliesWith all the negative feedback that Bungie has gotten for how they dealt with increasing the level cap in the dark below I seriously doubt that they will do it exactly the same way for the next expansion.
-
I do what I want. Most of you console people are not used to stuff like this but us mmo players are. Get used to it cause that's the way games are going. I've heard so many people say , "I'm not playing until house of wolves what's the point". Whatever, I do what I want so why wouldn't you. My point is there will always be dlc, lvl caps raised, better armor and guns. For all the people who think it stops at house of wolves you better check out future dlc for Destiny. Its not going to stop for awhile. So play or don't. Its up to you.
-
1 ReplyI get your point and it is frustrating but it's the structure of the game. This is not new so if you don't like it don't play the game
-
I'm not planning on quiting
-
Only problem with noob @ 33 is the weapons. I have many exotics and legendary weapons built up from many events. They'll have ice breaker only.
-
Ill get all TDB gear and buy new gear when dlc arrives and lvl up again ;-) i still use my VoG primary weapons, so ill use my TDB primary in HoW as well
