Tomorrow's Hard raiders will quit destiny when HoW arrives.
Just saying, you have been working so hard to get that lvl32 gear leveled up so quickly..
Then HoW comes and Casuals will buy their way up to lvl33..
You have 3 options.. Go to the HoW raid as lvl32 characters.. Or also buy your lvl33 stuff and enter the raid same level as Casuals.
Or you burn out and quit destiny, Which one is it for you?
My point is... Dont rush up. There is no need to be at the top of the peak.. Play at your own pace and enjoy destiny for years.
Rush up, and you will burn out.

Also, Grinding is a bit less Grindey when done a little less.. Hence you can enjoy the game more.
Wife/Girlfriend/family/friends/name your activity will also be happier. Its a Win/Win situation really.
EDIT2: GOOD news! Designer Luke Smith has commented something related to the release of HoW.

Dude, it was the same with this DLC. And, when you have 3 characters, it's easy to get at least 1 at 32. When the new DLC comes out I'll just buy the new gear and start raiding again

The same could have been said about the hard VOG bc it was the same time frame between it and Crotas raid as it is between Crotas raid and HoW raid. But everyone got there hard VOG gear and leveled to 30 then they sold 31 gear so based on this logic we shouldn't play until all DLC's have dropped for destiny 1 c

I'm going to have marks maxed on all characters, ten 5k bounties on each character ready to turn in, and several commendations and glimmer saved for HoW release. I'll buy my way to 33 within ten minutes of release then complete the raid to get my new gear to level. I'll blow through all the new content within a few weeks, and then take a break only playing one day a week until the next dlc. It's been a pretty solid strategy so far

Will it matter? We get the perk of having 32 right of the bat meaning we will be ready for to jump in the the new raid faster. We also will have the best legendaries. I know they will be underpowered but how many people still use Fatebringer and vision of confluence in Crota..

Honestly, the rush is so I can do the nightfall and the weekly at max difficulty. Sucks being locked out of the core game until I lvl up.

I'll just do what I did this time n get to the Lvl cap as soon as I can so when hard mode drops I'm not left behind. The point in doing this is so I can enjoy the new raid primary weapons for as long as possible before they're made obsolete by the next DLC. Sucks not to be able to do hard mode tomorrow.

You're completely right. All the players that want to play this the moment it releases obviously aren't dedicated enough to stick with the game any longer. We're actually all gonna stop playing destiny halfway through the hard raid.

It took me 3 weeks only playing 8 hours or so per week to get 32. I appreciate your concern, but I'll be fine.

I don't mind the leveling and it's their way of letting newbies catch up. But I hope they don't punish the hardcore players again and make them pay glimmer and exotic shards to bring exotic weapons on par with the guns newbies can just pickup

People who raid in more than just this one game fully understand when an expansion comes out all old gear will be obsolete. Most hard raiders complete the raid for the challenge, not the gear.

Getting to 32 is a lot easier this time. I am not 32 yet but have the gear and a few shards short of it.

Some of us like games that progress. Maybe you'd rather the game never raise the level cap? Besides that, even if you can buy 33 gear after HoW, that's not a "casual" thing. You need at least 345 marks and enough mats to level them. That would take longer than just raiding for gear most likely.

11 RepliesI am just wondering how the high level void hand cannon will be relevant. I can't think of any enemies other than VoG Praetorians that will be good for it (other than the rare void burn nightfalls).
