I really don't get why these dickheads do it. I mean is there really a point? I'm not on xbox so it not really effecting me but I heard they done it already when the clan wars where happening on cod.

It would only be a delay of a day. They have a backup XBL system for in the event of catastrophic events or terrorist attacks it just takes time to boot up. I could however be wrong but this assumption is based on Microsofts past business practices. It was described in the Y2K scare
