I don't understand why people buy dlc from gamestop. Save the trip and just buy it from home. ....

  • Rewards, if you're smart and know how to game the system best you can, you spend ALL your money with 1 retailer to accrue rewards and points as well credit terms which in turn allows for higher trade-in values, extras, and a net 30 timeline on payments. Or you can pay full price and get worst value for trade possible by "saving yourself the trip" lol.

  • GameStop gives horrible trade in prices. You REALLY want the most for your game or be able to trade and buy games at fair prices? 99Gamers is the best way to do it. You can youtube the name to find reviews from well known gamers who've used the site or Google info on it if you like. WickedShrapnel did a nice review. Basically, rather than buy/sell/trade games to Gamestop and pay full price or trade for 1/4th the value, 99Gamers is a site where gamers can trade games amongst themselves in one big network. You post your games on the site or browse ones available, and you buy/sell with coins. 1coin = $1.00 Price is basically set by the sellers, so Assassins Creed Black Flag can sell for 20-28 coins, where a title like Duke Nukem Forever goes for 2-5 coins. Each seller/buyer also has a profile which will show the reviews people gave them who did business with them, tell you if they're legitimate, late shipping the game, prompt and trustworthy, you get a clear picture of who you do business with. If you're going to buy or sell or even trade a game for another, you should give it a go, they've got a good community.

Same buy price on 99gamers for Destiny as what Gamestop will give it to me for in trade, and I don't have to pay any shipping or wait. I respect your wish to be part of a community of people trading games, but from what I know of gaming communities, 80% of them are whiny brats looking to screw over or troll someone. No thanks lol.

  • 99Gamers isn't at all like that believe me. SOME games will come up around GameStop prices, but you get all sorts of good deals you'd never see at GameStop. There are tons of good games that GS will sell for $15-30 you can grab on 99G for $10 and below, hell some classic games can go for $1-3. GameStop is fueled on screwing people while profiting all they can, 99G is more around prices dictated by a community

  • I looked through the site. Gamestop only "screws" people that held onto the game for too long. For old games maybe 99gamers is worthwhile, but I'm the guy that buys a game at release, plays it for a week and returns it to Gamestop for 40 bucks store credit towards next week's release and continues to revolve that. There really aren't any games I want to play that I don't play. The only games I "keep" and not return are games like Destiny and Battlefield that have huge replay value. *shrug* it may be good for some people, but definitely not a guy like me.

  • Or you can wait a week, buy it used, finish it in a week, return game for full price, rinse and repeat.

  • Don't accrue as many reward points that way, plus the store credit towards pre-orders wouldn't apply. I've analyzed it both ways and it's better to invest in full retail with rewards program employed.

  • Exactly, reward points. I've got enough Gamestop points for a free game, just waiting on a good one to cash in on

  • I don't either...the online DLC or seasons pass has always been a few dollars cheaper even after tax than you get it in Gamestop

  • Sorry......that's stupid to pay people to protect your identity. Be responsible and not put your info out there is much better than allowing people to profit off of you. It may be your thing, but not mine.

  • Really dude? If only things were that simple. They stopped someone from using information on my 5 year old son. He doesn't buy stuff on the Internet. He has a savings account that's all. So far worth the money. Hide from the world if you wish but your financial info is out there basically everywhere whether you like it or not.

I can buy from Best Buy and use my rewards card for rewards later. I will be fine continuing my practice. I also pre-order and buy new game download codes there. With the rewards, I get $10 back after every purchase of the game.

  • Good point, however I bought mine on PSN then removed my card data. Probably still not safe...
