We save our super the whole time and get less glory and kills in order to:
Prevent a wipe when the boss is almost dead
Get teammates up who stupidly died in the middle of a crowd of enemies that will surely kill us so we get you up, die, and waste our super on saving you
Solo a portal if too many people are down we can hold our own
Be the last few alive every time on a bad hard raid run that we inevitably save by having the only two guys left be the warlocks with shields killing all 3 sides of never ending sacrificing minotaurs
Pick the shield back up immediately if we die to save time a little time on the cleanse recharge and prevent a wipe since the other classes always hesitate to run down and grab it
Throw ourselves in front of you when your saying "shit shit shit" and we know you're gunna die so we sacrifice ourself to distract the enemy then super revive and distract it some more til you're healed (I do this with praetorians constantly while defending portals)
Just realize that the sunsinger uses just as many team work strategies as the titan next time you go thinking were for "cheeses only" and I didn't see you complaining when we did that for you either
Edit: lots of replies guys. Also shout out to the guy named Swirve for posting such a blasphemous and incorrect comment that he got more replies than the actual post. Lol Sunbros unite!
Edit 2: thanks to a few argumentative idiots I now have a post with 700 replies lol thanks for being you idiots.

any class can carry. Warlocks are lucky enough to redeem themselves from -blam!- ups
-
2 RepliesSelf rez is the only thing Warlocks have going for it. Least favorite class easily. Its not selfish, its all they got.
-
It seems to me that the warlocks always die in the night fall or a raid. then they will self rez
-
Personally when i call a sunsinger selfish its when they die and use radiance right after they die knowing they have i high chance of a hunter going invisible and reviving them. then further in the mission we are in a tough spot and he doesnt have his super because he decided to waste it on his selfish self thinking we arent good enough to revive him. that is what i mean when i say i hate warlocks and radiance users are selfish!

7 Replieslet's set the seen. We're doing a nightfall I (bd Hunter) tell everybody "alright I'll be on defense" You say"nah I got it I can self Rez" I say "no I'll still stay back to turn invisibility" we continue through the mission other guy goes down. you go down. you self Rez. you are jumping back to cover but you get sniped by the vandals. can't revive now can you? I turn invisible by crouching for half a second and go revive everybody

1 ReplyEdited by Psycho11Edge: 12/28/2014 12:07:15 AMIn order of your points: 1. Preventing a team wipe- This is a fair enough point and is typically how I see it used, and when shit went south, it's nice to have, but in most of my personal cases, a Warlock isn't necessary to prevent a wipe, so long as any one person still alive can, well, stay alive. And if all we have is one Warlock alive, might as well wipe in most cases anyways. 2. Saving someone in a group- A Bladedancer hunter can do this without dying and without using a super. 3. Soloing a portal- I've seen several people of every class type solo portals before, and I have even done it once with my Hunter. 4. Being the last few alive- Not always true, I'm usually one of the last ones alive and I play a hunter. Why? Because I know I can't revive, so I do my best to just not die to begin with, while the warlocks have died without their supers charged, or revived only to die again. 5. Picking the shield back up- Also a fair enough point, but it's not a matter of the other classes hesitating, it's a matter of the other people. There could just as easily be a warlock on Oracle duty who isn't sure if he/she should run down or not when you die. It's not like "The warlock dies and the Titan and Hunter are cowering in their pants because they don't know what to do", it's "The SHIELD PERSON dies and the other PLAYERS aren't sure who's grabbing it, regardless of class". 6. Be a body shield- This would be nice, but I've seen this happen with every class, just without the death. I've had Titan friends jump in front of me to tank a hit and we both walk away fine, or I jump in front of my Warlock friend who isn't charged and lure the enemy away while my friend goes the other direction. I'm not arguing against it's usefulness, but really, every point you made had a lot of holes in it. The Sunsinger self-res is a pretty -blam!-ing useful tool in any teams arsenal, and I very much appreciate it when it comes to not having to worry about reviving that guy, or being down a team member to the next checkpoint. However, not dying makes it a null point. My normal raid team consists of two of each class in most cases (sometimes one of the normal people is swapped for someone else on our friend list), and sure, the warlocks have self res, but the Titans and Hunters know they don't, so we play more carefully. There are warlocks who do as well, but there are also warlocks who get complacent. Hunter invis and Titan bubbles are also super useful, just like the warlock self res, but none of them are entirely necessary. The only supers that really matter are that of the Aegis and the Sword. Edit: Also, I've never viewed the Warlock as a cheese only class.

Its a crutch super.. Over rated... Void walker is supreme..

Nightfalls. When you're playing with people and someone does something stupid to get everyone else killed. Timer ticks. They cry. Timer hits 1. I self res. They get happy. I'm cool.
-
2 RepliesI mostly use Voidwalker, but l self Rez is a lifesaver (no pun) in raids and strikes and such, I've clutched nightfalls with it. Honestly not trying to start anything but how come nobody blows up forums about Titans with bubble shields and shotguns in crucible?
-
My buddy is a Warlock and I'm so glad for it due to his self rez. It's saved us multiple times in the Weekly Heroic. I can't imagine why anybody would think its "selfish" to use it. Since Bungie had to go and make the Weekly Heroic and Nightfall much harder to solo, we now need the Warlock self rez capability to get us through it. At least we can relax a little and have more fun knowing its available. I swear if people had their way there would be no supers at all and only BB guns as weapons. Cheers

6 RepliesIt is actually highly unfair and one of the most useful abilities in the game. Everyone should be able to revive if you are going to let one class do it.
-
1 ReplyI use radiance to make orbs for daysssss. Half the time when I activate it, I'm still alive and just wanna make orbs.
-
I actually hate using it because it means that I died. I prefer the Voidwalker but had to use Sunsinger in the raids because I'm heavy footed and don't strafe very well to avoid incoming damage.
-
Idc I never die from stupidity on purpose
-
2 RepliesPeople that hate abilities got too much time on their hands. I'll self revive if I want. Lol
-
4 RepliesRegardless of your argument 100% people take Radiance to resurrect them selves. What happens after that is just a part of a chain of events. Also all those Radiance people who insist on doing it when people wipe in raid to not only waste a special but to waste time :/. Not saying it's not good and you shouldn't use it. But trying to convince people you and others (myself) take radiance for anything other then selfish reasons is not correct lol.
-
I play support classes to help out players who aren't quite on my level, and I'm okay with that. I'll use my super or sacrifice myself to save you from the 20 thrall behind you. Sunsinger/Defender for the win :).
-
Radiance is so good! If you have a good team you don't need the self rez cause your team will constantly generate orbs! So the super will always be there.
-
3 RepliesIts used as a crutch for crappy players so often that it will never be seen as anything but that.
-
I just clutched the darkness, we had a afker and we all wiped at bridge just beforw the end so i waited the bridge to get done, self rez, rez a mate to get a lifeline and we ran to victory
-
Nicely said.

I personally like Sun singers for last resort action, Blade Dancers for being the team medic since they can go invisible and Defenders as that extra buff for your armor or weapons. I have all 3 characters and play quite differently on each of them. I like going through the nightfall on my titan since I can basically become an orb generator. (Ie. Melee kills generate orbs, heavy weapons do also and when your bubble takes damage) Going through the nightfall on my hunter I sit back and snipe more, revive people when they get downed- I dislike I can't use my super since generally lightswitch is on. On my warlock I can get more ballsy but try to place myself strategically so IF I am the last alive I don't instantly get downed right after self resurrecting. Nor needlessly use my super (unless there are tons of orbs around)
-
4 Replies0/10 Sunsingers will jump in front of another Guardian who's in trouble. I'd have over 150 hours on my Warlock.
-
Well said my fellow sunsinger

3 RepliesYou don't always need to run fireborn. Going with the perk that reduces damage while radiance is active, and constantly using your super to lob grenades at enemies can be extremely helpful whether it's pve or pvp. Especially if you run a 100% int build with super charging perks on gear. Still.... Im sure no one will call you a selfish asshole if your team wipes a nightfall and you happened to fireborn and revive them during the boss fight.
