Then message random people in game. Or wait outside the vault on venus. There are plenty of ways to find people to raid with, if you can't be bothered to take the time to look for them you will not complete the raid.

Since I'm a fair bit of a noob when it comes to features of the ps3 and 4 still since I'm mostly a PC player and don't care about those consoles other than playing a select few games that my brother owns, I actually haven't figured out how to message people yet, however, even still, messaging every individual person to ask them if they want to do VoG is a very archaic and frustrating method to use to communicate. Also standing outside the vault is definitely not a good way, at all, to communicate with other players to get a group for the vault. What am I supposed to do, wave, then dance and then point at the vault?

I was invited to join a raiding party while I was standing in the Tower. You could even just post in the forum like you did here and look for a group. You took the time to write this out, it doesn't even take that long looking for a group.

But the point is I should not have to go out of the game to reliably find a group of people to do some of the content in the game.

I've picked up a few people there the group only had 5 people and wanted to at least get through the gate. Just help people out as they try to get through the gate, show that you know what you're doing. Perhaps send them a message if they have 6 people saying that if someone has to go you'd be more than happy to step in.

So a lack of in game communication and needing to resort to third party resources must be acceptable to console players it seems...? My mistake, I did not know this.

Third Party? You can use their own website here to make a group. In the time you took to write this out you could have asked for a group. Hell, I might have even run a group with you if you had asked. It is that easy dude. Most games make use of websites now days.

I've never in my history of gaming, as far as I can remember, ever needed to go outside the game itself, just to go find a group to do the content in the game that requires a group to complete it. Whether it be the games own website or not. You should never have to go outside a multiplayer video game to find a group to do content that requires a group to complete it. Accepting things as such is just telling companies that your okay with them being lazy. Much how bungie was lazy not to include any form of in game communication, voice or text, in a game that is forced multiplayer with no option of single player offline mode, on top of that, it's a game that is meant to be co-operative, and includes content that cannot be completed alone.
