Or any other mythical being?
It's questionable for me because I'm not sure if I want my kids to have that false reality or the idea that I lied to them after so many years.

Aren't you a little young for this site? OT: Nope.

1 ReplyEdited by RomanGladiator7: 5/30/2013 8:24:57 PMNo, Master Chief instead.

Of course I am, I believe in him still.

Two things. 1.) You are clearly a liberal commie democrat with the thought pattern that you have. Also I can tell you are a millennial. 2.) When you finally have kids and you see their innocence and the joy they take in celebrating Christmas, and believing in things such as Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, and the easter bunny, I am pretty sure you will have fun with those things and let them have the fun with them too. It's priceless.

Commander Santa :(
-
My parents always made it my choice.
-
I'm going to encourage them to start a cult.

>Implying that I'm gonna have kids.
-
Sure. Good test of their deductive reasoning skills.

Edited by DarkestSeptagon: 5/30/2013 8:59:16 PMWait…are you saying Santa ISN'T real?
-
Nope. Some mythical fat guy isn't taking credit for buying my children presents.
-
Nah. Might make him too trusting of hobo's and chi-mo's.
-
Yes, but not by my choice. If they ask about Santa or whatever, I'll go along with it until they are of a suitable age. I'm not going to force it on them either, same with religion. If they figure out Santa isn't real by themselves before I tell them, more power to them. If they choose to be Jehovah's Witnesses (unlikely, but still) and don't celebrate Christmas, fine.

5 Repliessanta, tooth fairy, leprechauns, snipes, easter bunny, bigfoot, etc. my kid is going to believe in all of that shit. but not god.

1 ReplySeriously how many people have had serious issues with their parents over stuff like this?
I'm not sure if I want my kids to have that false reality or the idea that I lied to them
> robbing kid of childhood for no good reason Whatever floats your sleigh.

11 RepliesYes. You're a heartless bastard if you don't.
-
Yeah, probably so. I enjoyed Santa when I was younger.
-
Maybe, don't know yet.

MyNameIsNicholas
Is this a trick question, Santa?
-
No, because the shocking revelation that Santa was not, in fact, real, shattered my relationship with my parents beyond repair and forever damaged my ability to trust.
-
I'll let them believe what they want to believe as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
-
I'll go along with it like I have for my entire life, but I will leave one of those picture books about Saint Nicholas around where any kids I might have can read it. I won't discourage the fun of Santa Claus, that's for sure.
-
I wouldn't want to rob my kids of their childhood. Everyone works it out eventually, probably a life lesson in there somewhere.
