Silver only bundles
The fact you guys are making shaders and ornaments only purchasable by silver bundles is ridiculous. Especially for $10. Bright dust is a currency for a reason. It is literally robbery and paid to win. What a terrible business decision.

Although when ever I buy one I do need to recover from the beating I get when bungie robs me. Quick question..... Are you one of the players that also gets forced play?

Shaders and ornaments aren’t going to help you “win” anything. Apart from that one ornament for whatever gun it was that supposedly increased damage. Was it Crimson? I assume they fixed that.

So "Pay to win" is when an item sold for real world currency gives in game advantage to a purchasing player, and only a purchasing player, therefor giving them a higher chance to win in whatever capacity in the game. It is still optional purchase though. It is not pay to win however, as the shop sets are purely cosmetic. They give no advantage unless certain color palettes would allow blending into surroundings, which is a stretch, but still based in reality. C.O.D. proved this could actually happen with the Gray character, and was actually accidental, but again its just cosmetic. I do agree pricing is ridiculous though. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should, but humans don't actually understand this concept really. Oh, I forgot it cannot be literally robbery either. Robbery is being held under threat of some kind, usually physical violence or death, in which a choice is not given beyond harm. When buying we have to go through multiple screens on Steam at least to make a purchase, and acknowledge, then agree we are purchasing. So we are entering a contract on purchase that goods or services are provided, and we are purchasing those goods or services. "Literally" is something of an incredibly common misunderstanding of term as well. The term literally means, this is actually what is happening, like you broke your toe, so its literally broken. I'm not trying to be a d*ck, I promise, but right terminologies are appreciated and generally required to have meaningful, real conversation or answers.

1 ReplyIt's not a terrible business decision as it makes them lots of money. However, it's an immoral decision. Excessive monetization is a very scummy thing to do.

Tbh I wouldn't have a problem if it didn't cost $100 just to play the whole game evert big patch. But paying that much then still getting charged for cosmetics like that is ridiculous to me.

Purely cosmetic features is [b]exactly[/b] what the Eververse store is supposed to be -- purely luxury cosmetics that you can't obtain within the game itself through other means; so if you want to look cool with some ornament or specific shader, you fork over the $$$. Pay to win - that requires the purchase to give you a specific advantage in-game that non-paying players cannot obtain. The biggest example -- dungeon exotics. You have to pay $$$ for dungeon access in order to be able to obtain the dungeon Exotics, otherwise you do not get the advantage of those guns and their in-game capabilities that paying players do.

They don’t care anymore the light at the end of the tunnel is there Destiny is done in like two years and Sony bought them so they don’t have to worry about the company going under anymore. Look at crucible they left that -blam!- for dead.

Edited by max: 6/13/2023 6:46:53 AMIt promoted the exact same idea, paid customization on weaponry When Felwinter's lie first made its d2 appearance in year 3, it came with a silver-only ornament reducing your weapon model size by half, granting noticeably better fov for anyone paid to get it, that thing didn't get bright dust release for one full year, and only made free after the gun was nerf 3 times Defending silver shader bundle enables them to do things that are much worse, and knowing bungie, they will monetize things that are much worse
