Name change policy is harsh
I feel as if the 1 name change for the lifetime of your account is a little ridiculous. My name is not inappropriate or rude in any way, I would just prefer it to be something else now. 99% of games/publishers allow this, Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, Riot. Even Blizzard for a fee allows you to change your name, and I would be more than willing to pay 10-20$ for a name change ticket on destiny.

14 RepliesAlthough this clearly doesn't apply to everyone, there's sadly a certain type of individual not mature enough to choose an appropriate name. I've seen more than a few, and the unfortunate thing about it is they claim to not understand why their name is forcibly changed. Whether they are feigning ignorance or just genuinely that ignorant, Bungie can't pick and choose who can and can't have another name change. Besides, it's a gamer tag. It's not as though it affects a person's gameplay, so it's hardly a high priority, don't you think?

Thinking about it 10$ might be the max for me any more than that and I’ll stay as lilpeewee herman99 forever. 😂 but I do agree that 1 name change forever is crazy

we are already using numbers for identification, i don’t understand why we cant at least pay for a name change, even though it should be free, but i digress… obviously you dont want people changing it every day either, it would be a pain to moderate. maybe like every 90 days or something.

14 RepliesIt’s harsh mainly because too many people like to circumvent things and keep making inappropriate names, and it’s a waste of time to have people constantly monitoring those reports, if people could just change their name whenever, it just means people would abuse it and keep doing it like they blatantly abuse literally anything else they can and evident by idk all the channels derived to glitches/exploits and the like? But unpopular hot take, it should be harsh.

Why tf would you want to pay to change your name especially $20? Microsoft charges $8 and that's still too much. 2 free changes a year is much more reasonable.

1 ReplyThe tag change was only intended for those players who due to cross play found that they had the tag from a platform account when they wanted the other platform tag. A good tag should be considered in use for years not to be changed every week or month because of a wim or you not considering your options carefully. Also.. too many are picking offensive tags that Bungie staff have to moderate and in extremely offensive tags ban the account.
