First, I realize this is my own fault, so no need to point that out. Yes, the cool down timer is 90 days, and I understand the reasoning behind the timer. In any case, the game kept reminding me about Stadia accounts over the past month, so I finally went to unlink it. However, to unlink accounts, you first have to disable cross save. I decided to wait. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and some people had their characters accidentally expunged and trying to find any potential details, someone theorized it may be tied to Stadia's impending shutdown. I never used D2 on Stadia, but had linked my account nonetheless, so out of abundance of caution, I decided to go ahead and unlink to hopefully avoid any potential trouble. In hindsight, I would have probably waited as I play via Steam, but also on rare occasions on my Playstation. However, I figured they would continue using whichever character progression I had tied to them at the time Cross save was disabled. In any case, I'm now in the waiting period, but as the new expansion approaches, I realize if I want to play on something other than Steam, I won't be sharing progression. I see there are petitions to request reversals on bans or restrictions, but nothing to remove the cooldown timer from Cross Save. Has anyone successfully petitioned to have cross save timer removed? It won't impact me much, as I primarily play on Steam, as noted above. However, when my console friends do want to hop into Crucible or what not, it's nice to have the option to keep them out of the pool with PC players.
