Couldn’t the witness just use ahamkara to make his wish too make life cease to exist? To make himself win ? Guardians make their own fat sure but really? Maybe he can’t use ahamkara because they feed on desires for their own gain. And an ahamkara will not grant a wish that gets itself destroyed.

16 Replies1. They’re literally all dead. We killed Riven, the LAST Ahamkara. 2. Ahamkara don’t work like that. If he wishes that, then he must go too. And I’m sure he doesn’t wanna cease to exist.

I doubt Ahamkara are powerful enough to grant such a wish and besides, the Witness is likely older and more powerful than an Ahamkara.

6 RepliesHold it there, oh guardian mine… Don’t go talking about me without me in the conversation. We observe. We watch. We wait. We still influence. But I alone influence many. To think I would help out a masochist who only loves pain and death is quite interesting, really. Who knows? Oh wait. I do, oh guardian mine…

Ahamkara in the Destiny universe are functionally similar to old stories of the Djinn. Yeah, sure, they'll grant a wish but the cost is never worth it. Wishing for no life in the universe would likely cause the Witness and everything else to go with it. Or, if that was what the Witness was counting on, would cause everything to cease to exist, followed by a Creation event. Besides that, i'm honestly not sure that Ahamkara even HAVE that kind of power... Riven is really the only Ahamkara the Player interracts with (usually by giving her a cookie during the Dawning), so i'm not sure what the scope of their abilities are.

1 ReplyBecause we killed the last one.

4 Replies“She is known as Riven, THE LAST KNOWN AHAMKHARA” they’re probably all dead bro.

6 RepliesUnless the Witness has a Wishing Wall, going to an Ahamkara is a bad idea.
-
6 RepliesBecause Ahamkaras will probably twist his wish to their profit , remember : Ahamkaras grant wishes for anybody , yes. But those wishes always come with a twist , UNLESS EXTREMELY SPECIFIC.

1 ReplyThey know we’ll just cheese the ahamkaras toes to death.
-
Because they would twist to my his life cease to exist.
-
theyre all gone
-
Because we'd just turn it into a gun which we'd use to make him/her/it cease to exist
-
He doesn't need it, Bungie has already called the game for him

Ignoring the fact that the Ahamkara would lose their source of sustenance as a result, the Witness would need to make a 30+ page thesis to remove any chance of the Ahamkara twisting the wish.

Besides, knowing how they twist wishes, the Witness would have to be very very detailed and stuff about said wish so that the Ahamkara can't use any part of said wish back at the Witness, would have to be like a seriously well written contract lol

1 ReplyI think it wants to win a war of ideology. It wants us to choose it over the travellers ideals, not force it.
-
2 RepliesI’m pretty sure if the Ahamkara were that strong/straightforward the Destiny universe would be very different. I don’t think you’re gonna get what you want when you wish for “hey kill everything instantly thanks”.
