So I decided to try the Duality dungeon now that I have levelled up enough. My first impression is likely my last impression: At least the first encounter is way too hard on the base legend level. The boss damage phase is way too short, and the damage levels are too low. I used hunter with star-eaters with radiant super, the damage is barelty noticable, and then Lament as heavy. After two boss rounds I was able to get maybe 20 - 25% damage, and I estimated that it would take another hour to finish, so I quit.
I think for the base level solo clear, it should be enough that you can master the mechanics, but you do not have to have to spend you entire weekend on that.

Yeah it is most certainly difficult doing it solo, when i done my solo run i pretty much threw Solo Flawless out the window because theres a lot of finicky stuff to watch out for. If you'd like I'd happily help you complete it? I've just done my flawless run in Trials so im free right now.

Solo is definitely way harder. Took me a week of grinding to even consistently do it. If you want good damage try something like storm chaser, can be an easy 3 phase
-
A) You say you used Star Eaters but you were solo. So why would you use Star Eaters? You aren't picking up others orbs for Feast of Light? Are you generating your own orbs for Star Eaters to have a point? It is a great exotic but unless you are generating orbs with mods, seems pointless. B) Try using Mobius Quiver Tether and Orpheus Rigs. It will increase your damage output massively. C) I love the duengeon and done it a few times now. I think it is fine as is. You mention you got up to 25% damage. So that means 4 phases you would have beat it. That is great considering you are solo in a 3 person activity and there is no enrage timer so you can do it as long as it takes so I don't see the problem here.

if you are a bad pve player, you totally should spend one entire weekend if you are doing solo the dungeon
-
13 RepliesI’m sorry but I think your just bad the dungeon is easy besides the boss which is semi challenging depending on teammates
-
3 RepliesI flawless soloed it 17 times today with ease, Im cool now.
-
7 RepliesHey. You can easily 2 phase both bosses, but my first clear I felt a little like you do. I have now done 10+ Sherpas and have the dungeon title. If you want a hand happy to help you get it done, and explain how we approach it.

2 RepliesSoloing dungeons is supposed to be a really hard thing. They’re meant to be done with three people. That’s why soloing them has usually rewarded the player with in game rewards like emblems or a shader. Maybe try lfging some people and playing it as intended. Soloing is supposed to be for after you’ve beaten it with people.

35 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 6/12/2022 9:04:48 PMThe idea of a now separately paid for key piece of content of a 1-3 player activity being calibrated only for three has to change. Players should be able to choose their difficulty and not have that chosen for them merely by the fireteam numbers. Players should choose not the company and their commercial policy to max friend referrals. And for the smooth brain types who simply can't comprehend relativity of difficulty or the importance of player choice, if you want a three player 'easy mode' (forced, no choice) or an extra challenge solo mode (forced, no choice) you can and should have both experiences of difficulty but you should get to CHOOSE THIS, not be forced into one or the other, and then get the appropriate rewards TO FIT. (Admittedly this is like trying to explain calculus to a root vegetable.) Rewards should follow actual difficulty. Basic. That's the way game design works. If you're doing a relative triple difficulty, you should get triple rewards. If you're doing third difficulty, third rewards. Perhaps ways to get Adept/Timelost versions for example... and certainly not all for a ten minute in Photoshop emblem.

It’s difficult yes, but you have to keep an open mind and keep at it to see what works for you, not everyone can solo things right away and that’s Ok. There are plenty of guides out there and videos that could help you achieve your goal. It’s frustrating and it takes time but with this dungeon especially if you are struggling you have to take it slow. Take notes where you fail, where you did pretty good and go from there, otherwise if it’s something that you don’t see yourself doing right now, then maybe solo runs is not the content for you yet. It took me months to solo my first dungeon but it took a lot of trial and error on my part, so don’t give up, you’ve got this Guardian.

Titan, Solar, Throwing Hammer, Synthoceps. Still do 130k per throwing hammer on boss. Easy 2 phase. Final boss is much more agonizing solo.

8 RepliesEdited by THE GRIND IS REAL: 6/12/2022 10:11:39 AMAmen but this will get down voted to hell by basement dwellers saying get gud

3 RepliesYou get like 30 seconds to do damage. Dont base it on your solo experience dungeons are made for teams or 3.
-
idk sounds like to me you are using your primary ammo to do damage to the boss. plus you can get up to 1 minute of dps time for the first boss, which is enough to actually solo 1 phase the boss with the correct build so, idk why you complaining. just get good.
-
Solo dungeon runs aren't made to be a lost sector, a friend of mine went through about 8 or so DPS phases for Caiatl.
-
8 RepliesIt's designed for 3 people, not you by yourself. It's not like you go into a raid by yourself then complain it is "too hard". Yes people solo it, but you shouldn't be complaining when you can't.
-
2 Replies"The boss damage phase is way too short, and the damage levels are too low." Make sure that you are getting the bell buff by standing very close to the bell that you ring to stun her. The damage phase is actually pretty long if you stun her near each of the 3 bells. Not doing any thing to crazy with our builds and 3 people running well rolled linears can one phase her.

5 RepliesIt's got jumping puzzles. I went back to farming public events. I ain't got time for that nonsense.

1 ReplyEdited by Joulevette12: 6/12/2022 3:36:28 PMYea I try do it next week right now I'm trying to study up on it watching vids I don't like jumping in dungeon and raids blind holding back my teammates

Edited by Sohsuh: 6/12/2022 4:37:15 PMI got my solo flawless on my 4th attempt, and it was a really nice challenge and I hope Bungie keeps this level of challenge moving forward with dungeons. It feels just right. If you are only doing 20% damage after 2 rounds of damage, it is not the game that is the issue. It's your loadout and your rotation while doing damage. This is what makes it fun. You go in and see what works and mainly, what doesn't work. I spent a lot of time on Caitl figuring out what worked best, and I got it down to a 2 phase, so when I did my solo flawless it was a breeze. Try different loadouts, and even different subclasses. Find what works best.

2 RepliesI found the First boss relatively easy and the second boss(es) encounter fairly okay, once my routine was down with them. The last boss though is just a mess, it's first boss room leading up to Damage phase is convoluted and tedious, the problem they all have across the board is they are jam packed with so many adds and majors. Boop mechanics are overused, snipers, close ranged enemies, slows from Colossus' and bell keepers will happily boop you off the stage, there's sometimes too much going on at once. Thats not a difficulty, thats just simply grievance. I'm not saying the Dungeon is not doable, i myself have completed it solo, I'm agreeing that the Dungeon encounters should feel like you can master the encounters without having to worry about a BS bug/knockback/boop off the edge to occur.

4 RepliesPlay a titan. Throwing hammers makes the dungeon easy mode.
