BRING BACK SRL
Now I know there are plenty of issues with sparrows and the logistics of creating playable maps and all that, but personally, I would LOVE to experience the SRL again. Competitive racing was so much fun in D1, and I think it would be perfect to implement SRL at some point in the Season of the Lost, because its going to be so long without much content, despite the 30th anniversary dungeon. I know its probably impossible to make this happen, but please upvote if you at least enjoyed the Sparrow Racing League in D1, and may want to see it in D2. Imagine a race course in the Dreaming City that goes through the Ascendant Plane! That would be so fun! Respond with your thoughts!

Now, I know Bungie staff probably won't read through this, but please, if anyone from Bungie IS reading this, then hear this: We don't need a quote or a promise that this will happen, all we need is to know you hear us so please leave a comment! I liked SRL personally. It was a nice change of pace to get it during the Dawning back in D1. The cool looking racing suits, the funky music, sparrow horns, and having 4 different maps were what made it so fun. Its still available in D1 in private matches only (which is where I got to clips for my montage)

Sadly, not only would it take much time and resources which could be used for new content(aka new SRL maps or updating the old ones which could be a pain) but with the "Always on Time" sparrow I think everyone who has it would instantly win. We also had better sparrows on D1 but I think this time "Always on Time" is WAY above all the other sparrows, and It should be if you ask me. I loved SRL but I think we don't really need it. The only reason to bring it back would be for Guardian Games(and it would be a welcome surprise) but yet again if they want a "new" gamemode they could make a PvEvP class war gamemode instead, since if they bring back SRL you bet they'll get hammered by the losers who say "Reprised content=Lazy Bungie I uninstall".

It wasn't my favorite event but I'd play it again. I looked in my vault and still have all of my SRL armor. I couldn't bring myself to dismantle them.

7 RepliesUntil recently I had always been neutral on this subject. That was until just a couple of days ago. I was doing strikes and had just landed at the launch of a new strike. I jumped up on my sparrow first and was half way to the entrance of the strike when one of the other team members jumped on their sparrow. They were able to pass me before we reached the entrance. I had been on a straight path going full speed. When I inspected this player they had a sparrow with the same 160 speed capability as mine. I also noticed after they dropped the sparrow that they moved much faster than myself and the other team member. I can only assume that either they had a cheat that sped them up or it was something associated with a next gen console or pc. It definitely showed that, as the sparrow race would require, we are not all playing on a level playing field.

Myself and a couple friends will occasionally get drunk, load into europa and race each other around the planet on our sparrows. It's the dumbest -blam!- ever but it's a good time for sure.

I think it would be pretty neat to have a constant playlist for it in vanguard or something. not just an annual event. I like shooting things but sometimes I just wanna go fast lol.

Back in D1 days, I don't care much what they do with the game, SRL and what not. But when I found out then that it was a racing game they added in a once shooting game, that's how I know they are losing it. I don't mind the PvP aspect of the game mixed into the PvE. But when they added racing in there, I knew then they are losing their touch.

Sadly Bungie thinks we don't like it so they said they are not going to do it again I would rather sparrow race than play Astral Alignment
