There's gotta be a way to implement a better way to reward players for their hard work and for completing challenging activities. It's really off putting to do harder activities just to them be at the mercy of RNG. I've been playing destiny since the Beta of D1. I'm not going to stop because i leveled up more efficiently, i did take a break when i couldn't stand how terrible my RNG is. That's what kills the game for me, and i know there are many that would agree. So how about rewarding us with a little choice, you know authority, in how we play the game.

no grind = no game

1 ReplyI upvote this a 1000%. I’m at max light but 75-80% of my drops are armor. I am so sick and tired of getting mostly armor when I just wanna grind for god roll weapons.
-
1 ReplyOr They Could Go Back To The Way Destiny 1 Did Leveling Up Instead Of Relying On Pinnacle Drops. Just Make Every Drop Have The Ability To Level You Up.

For the playlists have it rotate each week. One week have a primary, boots, and an energy weapon to drop as pinnacles. Then switch it up the next week.
-
3 RepliesOh, and thanks for spelling ‘choose’ correctly. You coulda went with chose like the way people can’t figure out the difference between’lose’ and ‘loose’. Irritates me to no end.

I am a fan of being able to target pinnacles for specific slots, albeit on a limited basis. Prophecy is a good example. It's pinnacles are always armor. Heroic Sundial was always a weapon back in Season of Dawn, and you even got to choose which slot. If we had 4 activities where we had some degree of control over what we get on a weekly basis (maybe you could choose if you wanted a weapon or armor, much like D1 reputation packages are), or even just a couple of activities like Heroic Sundial, many people would be much happier. As it is right now, it often requires a bit of luck just to get that last piece (or two) that you need, and overall, the system punishes single character players.

I don't know why they have random leveling at all. I think if my DM assigned us random XP at the end of a long multi-week campaign 25 years ago (I know, I'm old), I would have stabbed him. But sorry mate, I upvoted and it's still negative. For me it was just different in 2014, I know it was still RNG based but it wasn't as heavy. And you actually became more powerful, raids were easier once you hit 30/33/35. I'm just not digging the quarterly pinnacle grind that looks to be standard for the rest of the franchise. I'm burnt out, extremely. Especially since so much of it revolves around the same core activities we started with (plus gambit, which is the worst of all anyways). Beyond that, there's a new game on the near horizon that... well I know we've been here a dozen times before (seriously, I'm not blind to how many Destiny killers there have been that ended up scuking) but I agree with Paul Tassi that this one could be "the one." After being fooled so many times, I'm very cautious but the demo has me leaning towards agreeing with him.

They definitely need to do something about repeatedly getting pinnacle drops in the same 1-2 slots. I don't think they need to let you choose the slot to accomplish that. Heck, even if they just made the +1 pinnacles from the 3 ritual playlists be guaranteed (or extremely high chance) to drop in a slot that could benefit from it would be nice. Nothing more annoying than spending the time in those playlists just to get shat on by RNG.

It would be easy. You finish a pinnacle activity and go to a vendor to claim your reward. It would require removing the end of activity drop for pinnacles, but I would trade the auto drop for choice in my drop. When you get to the vendor a menu opens with items in it (just like when you open vendor menus now) and you pick your item. I would even be okay with random perks on the items as long as I got to choose the specific item. This would keep some of the replay value (keep doing pinnacles to get good perks) while removing the frustration associated with needing just one piece (i.e. needing a pinnacle warlock helmet for 2 weeks) to reach max power and enter some endgame activities.

Every single drop this week has been for the same 2 slots, it’s been giving me the worst RNG for 3 weeks straight. Wish I was joking but I’m not it’s pretty lame to run a raid or do all pinnacle activities and have nothing to show for it no progression.
-
One a week. Will help with that last hump.
-
Yeah I got 3 kinetics from Iron Banner I was pissed

40 RepliesDear God No. Casual players have already ruined the Pinnacle grind which was solely meant to be a way for hardcore players to feel a slight feeling of progression from endgame activities after reaching the Powerful Cap within a week. As it is right now, even with average RNG, you can easily hit the Pinnacle Cap in 3 weeks, With your proposed system, I would be able to hit the Pinnacle Cap on my first character in a single week with the other 2 characters getting it at the beginning of the following week.
-
The ability to choose one a week would be nice.
-
The goal is to have most people grinding all season. For that reason they’d never let us choose
-
Pinnacles should be on a loop. Kinetic energy power hat arms chest legs class item. Repeat.
-
4 RepliesWe could do that last season in wraithborn hunts, high Celebrant. Being able to pick the weapon slot or armor slot you need for a pinnacle once per week was too generous to the player, so pimp daddy Bungie took that away. Now get out there and grind for your Bungie masters.
-
Pinnacles are effortless and definitely not challenging activities. Maybe from the first flawless or GM completion in a week.
-
But the grind
-
Disagree! Disagree Strongly!
-
I say we just bring back loot caves lol
-
3 RepliesIMO Bungie should remove Powerlevel from Gear and make it pure Exp Based. the more you play the higher your level is, get rid of that RNG bullshit that only benefit the lucky ones.
-
I really thought that was a no brainer with the umbrella engrams. Pinnacle umbral engrams that require more mats to refine.
-
1 ReplyI'd like a system in which activities have their pinnacle drops set for the week, like 3 vanguard strikes will give you a pinnacle chest piece, or harbinger will give you a pinnacle class item, or prophecy will give you a pinnacle power weapon, and the raid maybe a pinnacle kinetic weapon, and these set rewards would rotate every week. So as an example, vanguard strikes would give you a chest piece in week 1, an energy weapon in week 2, a class item in week 3, a helmet in week 4
How about letting us choose Pinnacle drops?
Yeah, that is like asking this company to stop the overdone control on how they love to control how we play the game. It's not ever going to happen.
