Y’know I’ve actually thought about their solution presented here before. I just worry about what happens near the end. Like realistically to accomplish their goals with sunsetting they’d only need to mass sunset some gear every 2-3 years (I think). Think about how they sunset in Taken King. Just one sweeping action. But if this game lasts so long, I wonder how they’ll manage. I suppose when the game reaches its end, and they (at least from what I was understanding) start the next era or chapter or whatever word they used of Destiny, the one past the Light vs Dark arc, this game will be left behind and so it will essentially sunset itself much like Destiny 1 did. Idk, this is all assuming this game stops at some point in about 3 years. I think sunsetting was a good idea with a lot of kinks that could be worked out and I think they chose the right compromise here. This was a phenomenal move by Bungie.

But we don't know what it means to them and what the "Right" rewards they wanna bring into the game a year from now. That statement right there is still sketchy. Be observant. Wait and see what they'll do next. I know we got some good news today, celebrate! But there are some bad news as well. They wanted sunsetting, and they got what they came to do. Lose 3 years of our rewards. Never to be used again. They may recycle them back. But we'll never use the ones we got rewarded for in the past 3 years. All that playtime, effort, and rewards, gone! I don't want to rain on our parade, guys. I want you to celebrate. But stay sceptical about the future. You should know who you're dealing here by now. I'm still out!
