Man I got a Gnawing Hunger with:
-Hammer Forged Rifling
-Drop Mag
-Substinence
-Rampage
-Rampage Spec
This machine can just chow down on trash mobs and keep ammo efficiency at a + with Rampage for an infinite clip, and when it does run out it has drop mag to cover the rampage spec and keep the chain going.
This is the first time any other weapon class than Lightweight Sidearms have made me interested in PvE.
Too bad it has no support in the Artifact so I have no reason to use it in higher tier content.
And it's soon to be sunset even though it took me from Arrivals to here to get it.
Like man.
This here is exactly the example of why both the seasonal mod system and sunsetting take any fun out of the game.
No more memories to be made from new loot and keep them with you for a journey.
Would've loved to use my Anonymous Autumn until this point to "sunset" the sidearm myself and look fondly upon it, now I just have distain for the forceful sunsetting of its journey with me.

24 RepliesSunset my gear, sunset my business.
-
2 RepliesWell...guess you can keeping that Gnawing Hunger now.
-
Feel your pain man. I loved my Randy’s throwing knife and Patron Saint. Soooo sad that sun setting is a thing.
-
3 RepliesDrop mag & subsistence are a pretty bad combo
-
4 RepliesOh u mean the scourge of PvP. Shame that's gone. Real shame. Yeeeeees
-
6 RepliesCan't go wrong with the Subsistence+Rampage combo, they synergize to make the gun an add eating machine My Nightwatch and Austringer have the same

22 RepliesI looked at my Commemoration (raid machine gun) today. It’s been a decent replacement for my beloved Hammerhead. It sunsets at 1410. That’s at the end of the season after next boys and girls. Why is a raid exclusive weapon being sunset when presumably the raid will still be around? Unless, of course, 4 seasons is now the life of a raid. This is B.S.

Wait, you use guns? Alas, this poor youngling has not heard the gospel of the YEET! Haha!

My good man try out the Arctic haze from Europa, got a lovely subsistence thresh roll and it's like a super fueling machine

I got one weapon with good rolls after almost 1 year and it will sunset next season. I hope they will remove Sunsetting from the game.

drop mag tap the trigger rampage with kill clip my g roll.

The seasonal mods really make sunsetting suck even harder. You might be looking forward to using your FAVORITE gun for ONE LAST SEASON... but there are no mods for it on the artifact and so it effectively gets "sunset" even sooner.

4 RepliesThis is the part I mentioned back when Bungie showed us what they were doing. Not everyone gets every item at the beginning of the first day of the season it releases. So not everyone would have a "year" of relevance with their favorite option. It may not be useful at all with artifact. Perhaps maybe when it first came out - but that wasn't when you obtained it. It is/was entirely possible for someone to FINALLY get their favorite item on its eve of uselessness. Unfortunately, you've experienced this. Bungie likes this idea that you'll not really be able to enjoy it as much as others have. It's apparently in their design.

I have the curated Gnawing Hunger with Overflow and Rampage. I never need to reload
-
19 RepliesGo farm those dirty engrams for a subsistence rampage extraordinary Rendition SMG. it is kinetic and will be around a long while. Gives you more time with the perk combo. I think i prefer the new frenzy perk on it but both are great options.

1 ReplyIve had this roll master worked since season of arrivals its my baby.
-
3 RepliesHardlight is better than gnawing hunger though........so just use hardlight
-
Gnawing Hunger is my work horse weapon since Arrivals it took me a lot of tries to get the god roll but ever since then I've used the same one I'll be really sad when I have to say goodbye.
-
I can't remember my reload perk, but I have one of those where I can switch between rampage and demolitionist. That gun has terrorized my enemies since I got it in Arrivals. You have found a glorious weapon.

8 RepliesI agree sunsetting is the worst idea. Luke smith always makes terrible ideas and i hear his next idea is to get rid of the middle tree light subclasses. Can we maybe stop listening to the whining of streamers and youtubers because last time i checked they make up a small percentage of the gamers in the destiny community. The normal players dont want harder content we miss how it used to be in d1. D2 is like three steps backwards from how d1 used to be. Bring back raid ornaments but dont let tess eververse sell it make it earnable for playin the raids
-
It's still my go to energy weapon.
-
Another story describing how much sun-setting sucks. With a ton of agreement from the community. Bungie putting expiration dates on the gear is so lame. Reintroducing that gear later is even worse. Booo!
-
If you want a gun that's similar to Gnawing Hunger and will last a bit longer, the Europa auto rifle Arctic Haze sounds good. I have one with Smallbore, Flared Magwell, Genesis, and Vorpal and I love it.
-
1 ReplyI have the exact but swashbuckler; I got it in season of arrivals and MAN does it mow down ads like nothing! It’s like it never runs out of ammo and my reloads are so lighting quick (drop mag and reload mw) you barely even notice when you DO have to reload 👍🏻
-
I’ve got the same roll. I love it and agree with everything you said.
