Seriously do something about shotguns or fix backup plan on fusion rifles. Shotguns are training wheels for the crucible now it seems or easy mode. You can’t take five steps before you run into another mouth breather with a shotgun because of the low skill level required.

Fusions are far worse. More range, almost 0 out play ability. Cannot push up on, cannot get withing shotgun range except for cover camping, and even then anyone who is could at pre charge can out play a shotgun user anyway. Fusions are cheap, easy, and cheesy. There is 0 skill for these also. If you have good map awareness you shouldn't have a problem with shotgun users. And if they are running toward you, and you let them get withing the 7-8m ohk range, you deserve to be ended. At least with shotguns you have to put your body on the line to get the kill. Risk and reward. You could be pushing a fusion, dead. A stasis titan with that punch up, dead. But honestly, and I mean this in the nicest way, but if shotguns are that big a problem for you, you're the problem. P.S. fusions are also getting a range buff now so you can be even safer while you crutch your voop voop.

2 RepliesGo get a 5.0 kda every match with Shotguns then if its so easy and takes so little skill. I doubt you could. Its not that Shotguns are op, but that the high traffic areas of Crucible maps cater best to CQB whereas the Long range parts of the maps are usually Low Traffic Areas away from Objectives or players. If Bungie wanted to balance Crucible then they would have to make more places for the Objectives or Heavy to Spawn: Some in or near Snipping Lanes and Some in places that don't cater to either CQB or Long Range Combat. Map design for FPS is something I studied in College and quite frankly Bungie is bad at PvP Map design and the placement of Objectives and Ammo Boxes. Not only that but Spawns should be restricted to each team and should be a safe zone with a rapid out of bounds timer for enemies who wander in and have plenty of cover that conceals a player till they choose to leave spawn.

1 ReplyBungie doesn't even play the game they Nerf mnk recoil to "close the gap between mnk and controller" but obviously don't even play the game. The top player always runs Stasis and shotgun... Hows nerfing recoil gonna stop someone who averages 8+ shotgun kills, 8 plus melee kills (Shotgun to melee), 6+ Super kills and 2 primary kills a game from doing the same after the change. The recoil was fine shotguns and stasis are the problem.

Get ready for more of it as of tomorrow, why because for the players who missed out on felwinters will now have access to it...I missed out on it last time and this time I’m B-lining straight for the kiosk and buying it..once I have it I’ll be heading into control to pet my chicken and go on a aping rampage..with my master worked 100 mobility armour..I will retire my sniper rifle and go back to my old ways.

4 RepliesPut two good players against eachother using only shotguns and the player with better positioning, movement, reaction time, and awareness will win every engagement. Just because shotguns don't require pin point precision aiming doesn't mean they are easy to use by any means, in fact I fully support the argument that they are more mechanically demanding and take more skill than snipers.

That’s where you’re wrong, there’s a skill gap to shotguns such as pre aiming, pre firing alongside nuance factors such as changes to builds etc that slightly change shotgun play situationally. Pretty much compare it to a mindless crayon muncher straight lining you to a head hitting hunter sweat that’s already locked onto your head before they even see you

There’s a difference from the mindless dudes that push you head on without a care in the world and the truly skilled shotgun apes. The key difference is their timing and movement. What makes certain shotgunners super potent is their movement hands down, and it evident when you play against them. I do agree that shotgun have a bit too much range, but then again most of them can be combated. Otherwise it’s all down to movement.

8 RepliesNo they're not. ...and you might want to look at where you're going with those "five steps". Odds are you're running headlong into places where you can't see, and aren't paying attention to your radar. So you run into shotgun traps....or stumble into opponents when they are already well-inside the TTK of your primary. That's not a shotgun problem....and no amount of nerfs will fix that.

Shotguns have a tad too much range but don't let the brain dead straight line running confuse you. Consistent top tier plays with a shotgun are a lot harder than people think.

I run tlw and combined with statis, rushing shotgunners with the run foward, slide foward and jump foward tactics, are the easiest to counter. Its, a you problem not the shotguns or shotgunners. If im getting shotgunned regularly im out of position,didnt check the rader or have made a mistake and deserve the death.

You are so wrong.... sure you can get a kill with a shotgun or any other gun... but to be a good shotgunner requires great skill... they are very inconsistent... if you ever tried it you would actually know... Or, you have tried it and found out its not so easy and so now you complain about those who worked hard at it... like me

This game isn't a fps. It basically "heres a shotgun and abilities have fun" this is the first fps game where you dont need gun skill to be good. You don't need scout rifles or pulse rifles either because it also has pistols that can shoot a cross the map! Pvp is so broken in this game

Don't get mad at shotgunners. Get mad at map design that promotes aggression and corner camping over anything else... and Bungie refusing to add any new PvP maps with their [b]$40 expansion. [/b]
