In one word: unrealistic
The oasis is missing the most important parts of any mmo: furry roleplay, G.I.R.Ls and the n word

1 ReplyI feel like too many people took this too seriously

2 RepliesI had issues with it. I'm not sure if the fault lies with Spielberg ( the director ), or the source material ( Ernest Cline's novel, which I haven't read ), but the future world that was shown in the film did not feel realistic. It felt like a non-gamers take on what gaming culture would evolve into.

Remember the movie gamer?
🤣
Edited by Ghost Rider: 1/18/2021 3:29:42 PMHave you read the book? The only redeeming aspects the movie had were Gundam, the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, and whoever played Irok (love that actor). Otherwise it was garbage. Spielberg took the book and about five lines of coke, then took the resultant script as-was and forked it over to the animators.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Mecha Godzilla was the best part of the movie, mostly because they used it's theme.

48 RepliesI didn’t watch it, but I remember thinking the trailers looked dumb. Kinda just looked like they threw a bunch of random video game references into a movie so gamers would go like “Omigosh, VIDEO GAMES!? I gotta buy dat movie!”.

3 RepliesEdited by Cobravert: 1/18/2021 3:54:40 PMIt was interesting. Not great, but interesting. Seeing the group of Master Chiefs in the final battle was cool. I really liked the way the Halliday AI (or not) interacted with Parcival. "Do you want it or not?"

it was an okay movie but comparing it to the book makes it worse in relative
-
I like the movie a good bit but it's probably just the pop culture references
-
2/10 for me. The villain was cheesy and it never really felt like there were any stakes.

Edited by Double07: 1/18/2021 8:13:36 PMIt’s missing lesbian roleplay by tweenagers.

2 RepliesObligatory "The book was better"
heh, the book had a "doll" in it.
1 ReplyThe holy hand grenade from MOaTHG was pretty cool, but it feels like they didn’t use enough pop culture video game references for a movie about video games
-
1 ReplyOnly reason I was thinking of watching that was the explicit furry scenes. Guess I’ll just stick to my MLP Minecraft server for that then.

1 Reply0/10 no Nekos.

Maybe they’ll be in the sequel
