I feel like the jump from forsaken to beyond light changed some things. While it doesn’t necessarily conflict with the previous lore I can’t help but feel like variks continuing his meek position was a let down. I was actually hoping he would rise to be the Kell of Kells. Maybe after Eramis’ death he would rise to a more prominent position. Seeing him in his reduced state in beyond light after the character development across the games feels like a disappointment. Wasn’t expecting him to take over house salvation necessarily, maybe a part of it, but they definitely just dropped him.
