Why I think the cosmodrome is coming back
Because we are heading towards a point where we will get a mission to meet Uldren, who is hiding out in the Cosmodrome (like the Dawning ship lore suggests) and he will be a big character moving forward (he was half made from Darkness and NOW he has been reborn from the Light).
Thoughts?

Not really a reason he would be a big character moving forward, since that is true of every Awoken guardian in existence. As long as we can finally let Master Chief out of his pod in the Cosmodrome, I'll be happy.

3 RepliesAll i want from the Cosmodrome is to see how the area changed in the years since we last visited it. I don't want a "here's the zone you were reborn in, exactly as it was when you were first revived", like I can load up D1 if i want that. Show me what happened since we destroyed the SIVA replication chamber, since we stopped the Devil Splicers and since we sneaked back in to avenge Master Ives.

Maybe. It remains to be seen what will happen with the cosmodrome changes, but we shall see.

Well they're gonna need to find a way to re-use that old cutscene from the ViDoc before Destiny even launched.

13 RepliesThey said they’re bringing back the year 1 Cosmodrome, meaning before RoI. It would cause a continuity issue if anything happening there affected the current story.

Since this is in the lore section I won't say why business-wise it's coming back, but you already know. I hate lore getting tweaked to match corner cutting :/

It’s been happening for months now. They already snuck part of the cosmodrome back for one of those exotic quests or another. Remember when Shadowkeep was launched with a bunch of play spaces we already spent hundreds of hours traversing years ago? An entire moon of mysteries but we get to revisit the same areas over and over...

My hot take is that the Cosmodrome is just coming back for the “new” new light replacement. Like half of the destinations from the Red War campaign are going away, along with the Mercury and Mars for the CoO and Warmind expansion campaigns.

Well, you’re right. We see that in one of the pre-beta trailers for destiny. It was cut from the original destiny content, so maybe they will now re-introduce it.

Here's an idea - Ana moves from Mars to Rasputin' bunker in the Cosmodrome in an attempt to re-start his systems from there. Maybe even make a new series of Seraphs to serve him. Maybe another Sidhartha Golem, that will be kidnapped by Savathun, and taken to the returning Dreadnaught next year... ya know, actually doing the original D1 story that was shelved. The chance for Uldren to be re-introduced as 'the crow', and start his character development.
