Future of destiny
Rewording this
So I get the game is getting big and everything and they need to get rid of content. The only issue I have is them getting rid of the campaign, assuming since locations are going away. But I'm looking at it as for new players they enter into a game were all they can do is gambit, cruicable, strikes or patrol. They have nothing to integrate them into the game or ways to get more gear, since strikes gambit and cruicable all reward at the end of the match. Players will take longer to lvl up and gear up in my opinion. But if a player goes into the game and only likes pve half the game Is basically gone for them, or if the only like pvp half the game is gone as well, granted same issue even if their is a campaign.
Anyway my question is the new origin story gonna be one or two missions or are they adding a new small story to integrate players. The only reason I'm asking is because I would like to get friends into this game, but don't want to be like oh if you want story you have to spend 40 bucks or so on a free game, idk how much forsaken is right now.

D2 is moving in a good direction. I like where it’s headed right now in this point and time. Haven’t been much for the titles and badges. Never tried for wayfarer, but I think one could grind it out before the planets disappear.

9 RepliesI am not happy about losing stuff, but what they said makes sense. The game is massive. They can not just keep building on it ad infinitum. Console hardware has its limits. So in order to give us new stuff, we need to shed some dead weight. Let's just hope that the content they come out with its as good as they are hyping it to be.

I agree on the point regarding Seals/Triumphs, etc.. that folks may have been working on slowly that will be stonewalled on September 22nd. It would be nice if this was addressed. Perhaps we can continue working toward them if the needed content is reintroduced in the future, but I have doubts the continuity will be maintained.

The missions are still going to be in the Vanguard Story Mission playlist, The Exotics will get added to Rahool's new way to get past seasonal Exotics you can't get anymore, armor will probs get added to the random loot pool, and as for the wayfayer title, they could just remove the requirements from those planets to make it so players can still get that title. I understand that losing core game content like those planets suck but like Bungie said they don't want the game's file size to continue to grow and make it ungodly hard to patch and bug test gigabytes of files and code. Unless people want the game's file size to exceed 200 GB and complain about it like the people who complain about Modern Warfare's 200+ GB file size, I suggest everyone allows Bungie the benefit of the doubt to vault this content and bring it back when they feel it's right to do so.

I would have been happy if the future of destiny included D3. Having experienced the D2 platform and the associated pains re: development, content creation, etc... I really would have preferred a fresh start. D2 has been on its back heels more often than not, and I don’t see them adjusting enough to regain my interest. Maybe they’ll surprise me - anything is possible. But for a die hard 20+ year Bungie fanboy to throw up his arms in frustration is... worrisome.

3 RepliesI couldnt care less for the campaigns. For me its just the fact that they are cutting content due to game size. Modern qarfare is around ~230 gb and people dont really care. Yes the destinations may not mean to much for people but destiny is a game, at least i believe, that is all about the various different locations you go to do, well..... everything. And now theyre sayibg theyre cutting mercury, io, titan, mars, and leviathan for cosmodrome, europa and vault. This doesnt seem like an equal exchange by a long shot not to mention now all the roundabout things they gotta implement for stuff you can only get there. Whats worse is that content rotations are yearly with expansions. Imo content rotations if they do implement this should be seasonal at best bi-seasonal at worst
