It automatically makes all loot I get less special knowing it will soon become useless.

I think the thing that hurts are the changes or nerfs. When they create a weapon they know exactly what it does and how much damage. Well, you'd think they'd test it out before they "release" it. Yet, they release it and the horde cries for nerfs. The inevitable changes can really hurt the gameplay value. Games use to come out as a finished product and it was what it was. Changing the game while people still play it always seems like a strange thing and has it's pros and cons.

Edited by zxionisus: 5/18/2020 8:07:26 PMAt the least, Bungie will need to adjust the armor progression, because there is no way I’m grinding for materials. As it is, I only have one set that was ever upgraded fully and I just dismantled it this weekend.

Edited by iZonii: 5/18/2020 6:03:14 PMOn second thought, I won't join in on the discord of these forums.
-
My load out is made up now of Sturm with catalyst Baroque Drang Goldtusk Frumious armour. THE OG hunter set. That's staying on permanently. I don't care what bungie does at this point because they've shown a clear disregard for criticism or feedback. My hunter will remain the same.

Edited by GeneJumper: 5/18/2020 5:31:12 PMYup several months ago. I pop back on the forums every now and then to see if anything has changed. I see it has not and will not. That’s ok, lots of other games that are fun and not a chore

4 RepliesBungie did the same thing in destiny 1. So we all threw our weapons and gear in the vault and used all the new shit they gave us and eventually enough people -blam!- and threw a fit and bungie gave us the ability to level up all the old gear so just give it time Bungie will give in and will be able to level it all that old stuff back up
-
18 RepliesUsed to it because TTK expansion stopped you using it immediately as it wasn't able to level up, the game needs weapon retirement
-
10 RepliesAre you the same person that says he lost incentive since all the weapons are the same? The sunsetting system literally says it will let them make guns as good as the recluse. They can and will make good weapons and the ones you have will still be usable in 90% of the game. Even returning weapons will have new rolls on them.
-
You can still use your weapons as they are right now in 90% of the content just not in future endgame content.
-
Absolutely. If I could turn back time, I'd stick to Monster Hunter and play my backlog
-
2 RepliesTakes the spark away. Second time they've done this. First with armor random rolls and not back dating so my masterworked dead orbit armor back in the day was worthless and now ONCE a-EXPLETIVE-gain i just got a full set of dead orbit. Ornaments on. Shaders on. Fully masterworked and it being made redudent. I make everything pointless. IF they force ,and it will be forced, sunsetting on us they better give you the means to get a 100% refund on masterworking materials.
-
I’ll run quick pinnacle gear loot for PvE using whatever because perks don’t matter in PvE. I’ll just conplete bounties quickly I’m in Iron Banner using whatever is highest. I’ll not farm gear anymore and stay out of endgame now except for quick pinnacles.
-
2 RepliesIf you have lost incentive to play the game solely because something you earn will become less useful in 10% of the game's activities after 12 months, then I think you need to find a hobby other than video games.
-
11 RepliesNope not at all I like change its a looter shooter things go away for new things to get put in itd place
-
1 ReplyWould I find interesting is Bungie announced that it was dumb to make content that disappeared, because it was a waste of resources. Now they announce all of their gear is going to be disappearing. Bungie logic.
-
The legitimate way of sunsetting gear is to make a sequel to Destiny 2. Telling people that the gear you have will eventually be obsolete in a game that wants you to grind really is contradictory.
-
I don’t see much of a point in fully masterworking armor anymore. As for weapons, I’ll probably just be more content with less weapons. Half of what I saved was only for all the arbitrarily annoying loadout dictations from all the bounties and quests steps anyway. If not for those I’d save significantly less weapons. I want the combat situations to dictate what I use and why. Not some chore bounty or quest step.
-
Yes. Very much so

8 RepliesI lost interest in loot when it all started looking terrible, I could get the same roll anywhere else, and everything already meant nothing. To be honest this just adds onto the problems with D2. People think its gonna great because "Bungie has to add better perks to the loot" no they don't and I doubt they will. It'll be the same stuff that already has zero meaning or anything special now you get to earn it at least twice when they take it away and return it.
-
Edited by More Power: 5/18/2020 4:08:38 PMI stopped chasing the hard to get stuff in activities I didn't enjoy even before D1 ended... because making our stuff obsolete kills incentive and crushes loyalty. Just wish BMW would do the same with the Dev's sport sedans 6-9 months after they worked so hard to earn it.
-
I’ve lost incentive because I waste time playtesting weapons and crafting builds. No real point in doing so when they are going away. Even with season of dawn gear, I can’t shake the thought of it being sunset in dec, so why bother.
-
I stopped playing after the first twab Smith talked about sunset ting. Now hearing that armor is getting the same treatment lol.... I just don't get how people are defending this crap and cannot see why the rest of us are not down for this nonsense. Anyway, to each his own. It's been what 6 or 7 years playing this franchise, time to move on. It never grew into the game I'd hope it would
-
3 RepliesEdited by TiredOldTimer: 5/18/2020 12:57:03 PMWhat do you mean lost the incentive? Aren’t you exited about having to be decked out in blue gear since all your hard earned legendary gear is hot trash? I know I’m excited! 🤮 With RNGsus on your side it may take you month to find legendary replacements. All the while, you’re playing in blue gear. So much fun! 🤮
-
2 Repliesyes. But additionally I'm not interested in "the chase of loot." That is not my idea of fun and not why i play. I play to use the gun not to search for the gun. i was more a pvp shooter player originally before playing destiny. In most of those games you unlock weapons at a certain rank. Well i'd unlock one gun and play with it forever. So i can't fathom this perspective that Bungie needs to sunset weapons to force me to use a different gun. Let me use what i want. Hell i'd have been fine using fatebringer now and gjallahorn. Sure make something new an interesting and i'll switch around. I used hella different guns in d1. That didn't mena i wanted to stop using my vault of glass scout or fatebringer. So what if people use recluse in pvp. Bungie don't kill my vibe.
-
nope, its a game, no matter what game you choose you will be after something, if its this game or another.
-
I have lost any drive to play this game at all
