I don't play any sort of PVP. Don't like it and won't play it. Numerous quests have a PVP element and I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never have the rewards from those quests. I can live with that. Then I'm having a good time in the Guardian Games event and thinking, "Yeah, this isn't so bad. I may have a shot at the Top Prize". So I look into the requirements. Complete a triumph. Ok, lets see what that entails. Complete seven Guardian Games Triumphs... should be doable. Start reading the Triumph descriptions. There're only 6 non-PVP triumphs. Once again Bungie's forcing people into their PVP activities. Ok, fine no machine gun for me. I'm sure I'm not the only player that's not a fan of getting constantly and continually wrecked in PVP. So, good job Bungie, and oh yeah, F*** you.
Not like I'm gonna quit playing, I like the rest of the game, just a little tired of getting continuously shit on by Bungie, for not playing PVP.

Gambit/destination medals are the easiest to complete during this event. Get out of your comfort zone and go kill pve adds in gambit. You will be done in 2-3 games. You are the only one limiting yourself.

Lol awwww poor pve player
-
2 RepliesFun fact...it’s not. It’s actually behind an active wall. You don’t need to spam pvp to get it OR spam over to get it, you can chose which one you like more tbh, there is no pvp wall.

Now, stop being a baby

Edited by Peloquinsoul: 4/27/2020 7:33:14 PMThere's absolutely no need to do pvp, the 4 mode laurel triumph doesn't even include it. Looking at the comments here it's pretty apparent not many people have figured this out.

Edited by Swiftlock: 4/27/2020 7:29:26 PMSome equipment requires you to go out of your comfort zone to get. And that's 100% good. That's what makes the gear special when you finally do get it. PvP players are also forced into PvE if they want top Crucible weapons like Sacred Provenance, Spare Rations and Mindbender's. It goes both ways.
-
Not entirely, you can play Gambit.

6 RepliesEdited by Smough: 4/26/2020 12:10:58 AMWhy is it locked behind a pve wall? Oh right, because pve just like pvp is a part of the game.
-
It’s not. Learn to read.

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 4/25/2020 12:16:47 AMPvP is a big part of this game, with about a 1/3 of the players playing it. They do use PvP quite often to extend the value of the game. They've been doing these kinds of things for 5+ years. I don't think they will stop. I enjoy most parts of the game, so I'll keep playing. You'll get the MG when it starts dropping or xur sells it.

1 ReplyI mean im ok with pvp but why rumble?
-
13 RepliesWhat the hell are you talking about? There are 8 non pvp triumphs. Renowned, great deeds, gold medalist, medalist, show your colors, represent, world class, and guardian gamble. And quintuple threat just requires you to get one gold crucible medal.
-
2 RepliesIts 25 super kills grow up
-
Isnt Guardian games to prove which class can do more of everything? Who would have thought bungie would have made you do everything in this game 🤷♂️
-
It isn’t blocked behind PvP, even if it were it will be in the fated engram pool after the event
-
The only one that is truly locked behind pvp is the 25 super kills in rumble. If you only want the machine gun there are 7 that you don't need to do pvp in.
-
No, it’s not, the only PvP triumph is the gambit, but that can be ignored... same with the crucible medals... it’s not locked behind PvP at all...
-
1 ReplyPlease stfu. We have much, much worse problems than that buddy.

Edited by michael: 4/25/2020 2:34:10 PMPvE players whining about PvP quests will never ever not be funny. Cry me a river if you have to get 25 rumble super kills, I spent a year and a month doing dreaming city milestones every single week times 3 characters before I got the curated twilight oath. I would give a dozen other examples of times Ive submitted myself to endless layers of RNG in PvE for a PvP weapon but I think you get the point. Woe is me if you have a quest with a specific task and trackable progress that guarantees your reward in the end. Its the same with PvE players complaining about mountaintop and recluse. Once again, specific task that guarantees your reward in the end. At least you can say you have that going for you when you have to play the part of the game you dont like.
-
So you could ask :p
-
While I don't like this (and a few other things) about the Guardian Games I can understand that it's supposed to cover all the content. Including PvP. And since it's just a single triumph I would say, suck it up, get it done, never visit again. Just like with the few quests that force you into PvP for something.
-
1 ReplyI think Bungie wants to entice us to play all aspects of their game. PvE, PvP and Gambit so it makes sense to incentivise us to do so. If you don’t think the reward for playing crucible is worth playing crucible then you don’t have to do it.
-
You don’t have to participate in PvP. In gambit just don’t invade, and when an invader jumps in hide in a corner or very back. Since D1, you can’t expect everything in the game without doing everything in the game. Have to get out of your comfort zone if you really want something.
-
I’m sure the PvP only players hate having guns like 1k Voices locked behind a PvE activity based solely off RNGesus’ mercy. It’s all pretty balanced IMO.
Sorry, all out of salt.
6 RepliesUntil developers of PVP game mode games are held accountable for the mental health damage of children, through prison time, things won't change. Lobby your local government to establish taxes and laws to bring change.
-
14 RepliesJust do the gambit ones and never invade Boom...its suddenly PvE grinding Sure an invasion is gonna happen...but if you never invade...it's PvE
