Putting a paywall behind both game modes just excludes some of the players who haven’t the money to play it which is unfair to them

So not having access to an entertainment service that you don’t have the means to pay for isn’t fair? Sounds completely fair to me. You’re receiving a service, and you should have to pay for it. That’s like arguing that it isn’t fair for Netflix to cut you off because you quit paying, even though it costs them something to provide the service to you.
