NO MORE IRON BANNER ARMOR QUEST

2 RepliesMy Iron Banner participation has generally gone like this since they added the quest: 1 - Grind out the quest over the course of a day or two during 1st month so I can get a few pinnacle rewards / unlock a few enhanced mods via token turn ins. 2 - Burn out after being miserable using weapon classes I more than likely haven't used since the last time Iron Banner required them, and avoiding Iron Banner the rest of the week if not avoiding Destiny all together for the rest of that week. 3 - Run Iron Banner matches on and off during the 2nd month and generally enjoy the experience (even if I haven't seen better stat Iron Banner gear drop since Undying). 4 - Repeat step 3 during the 3rd month assuming I haven't gotten bored of the current season as a whole and switched to another game until the next season starts. Before the quest was added my experience in Iron Banner during the 1st month skipped straight to step 3.

Unfortunately, that is never going to happen. While I agree with you, Bungie has dug their heels in on this one and as long as Luke Smith and the other senior management goon squad is running this show, it is most likely to continue. They do not take suggestions well, in case you haven’t noticed.

6 RepliesWhy doesn't anyone talk about the weapons. I'd do the quest if there were fresh weapons. Bungie has lost it. What's the point of Iron banner now? Recycled armor? Pinnacle gear? No Bungie, the incentive of Iron Banner was fresh cool armor pieces and weapons. Not recycled armor and 2 year old weapons.

Armor quest should be a guaranteed way to get an armor set, not a requirement. I know a lot of people miss out on the "wear a full set of this" quests because Bungie and rng give them the finger and they don't get a full set despite grinding. The armor quest should guarantee you a full set if you complete it, random rolled or static up to Bungie's discretion, but should not be required in order to get a set. Maybe give a set that is decent but not god roll so that players can get a set, but are still tempted to farm for a god rolled set after.

1) Most people get confused with this post not understanding the difference between the seasonal quest and the weekly bounties. 2) It sucks that you have to finish the quest or you get "weapons". I think that might be the real killer. The bounties will take most folks around 2 hours, but the quest is about 3 times that. If that could be done over 3 IB's that might not be that bad.

Edited by Angelus-B-: 4/19/2020 11:51:20 PMWhile I've not got an issue with there being an IB quest to unlock seasons armour, I agree that disabling the ability to collect rewards from redeeming tokens is flawed. You don't have to complete the seasonal quests for Zavala and Shaxx before being able to redeem tokens, you don't have to complete any quest to redeem weapons parts with Banshee every season. It should revert to the previous model, where you could still redeem tokens, only weapons were available from the engrams, until you'd completed each stage of the Seasonal IB quests, where the armour piece from each completed stage would then drop into the loot pool.

1 ReplyD1 iron banner didn't have this nonsense. You just get in there, play, earn random iron banner loot after each match and get loot from salad man. Good times. Gear looked good and was powerful.

Iron banner is fine. The armor stats can be ridiculously high.

The quest should be optional to receive the armor from rankup packages. That's all.

1 ReplyWhy can’t we use tokens on alt characters? Did the quest, was not hard although getting bow kills in PVP means you have to hide and take others kills. Then went to other character and I have to do it again! Know it may be what some players want but if the aim is to reward I can just buy the bow again and give to my alts.

Nope. Back when we had to use tokens for our armor, it was a nightmare. I spent hundreds of tokens during the Drifter season trying to get a pair of Iron Symmachy Boots, and never got it. That’s not something that should ever happen.
