The incredible shrinking Destiny! More nerfs and a new harder Nightfall? This game feels like it's catering to a small group of massocore gamers now and the rest of us who came here to be social, have fun, or enjoy PVP are just SOL. This sucks.

6 RepliesGo “free to start” to bring players in. Put an extreme focus on cosmetics to make money. Give new light players a terrible, nonsensical experience. Suck the fun out so a small group can feel good about their D2 skillz. Lose most of the playerbase. Sounds like a legit plan to me. What’s the problem?

Making a new difficulty level doesn’t alienate you at all. 80%, at least, of this game is unbelievably easy for some players. What they need to do is add ways of obtaining prisms/shards from all game modes even if it is a random drop. That would help the causal player base out a ton and allow the more casual player base to progress in their goals as well.

Edited by Aj: 2/24/2020 3:41:17 PMThe weapons changes I can't comment on until I actually play it. But what is the problem with an even harder nightfall? U claim to be a social player and that's fine. U can easily form a team through the app. People are always looking for nightfall runs. There is a common notion to add matchmaking to them. Before u agree, please stop and consider a moment what good it will actually do. To this day I still find people who cannot make public events heroic, cannot activate plates in basic strikes, have no clue how menagerie encounters work etc. And if they do add matchmaking, many players will be in here griefing over other players, say the activity is too hard and so on. While optional matchmaking sounds great many players think it will solve their 'solo' problems. It won't. At least not to the extent they think it will. And that is a hard pill to swallow. This game encourages to form groups and unfortunately this is not going to change anytime soon. I may have gotten off point but I think many players need to believe in themselves more and stop making assumptions. We DO NOT know what the new nightfall will be like in terms of difficulty. But if they rewards are on par then I will definitely play them. Finally, if u are on psn, I can help u with 980 nightfalls. Even the upcoming grandmaster ones if I can finish them myself.

12 RepliesEdited by G0lden Hunt3r: 2/22/2020 6:19:25 AMMeanwhile 90% of nerfs so far have been because of pvp players asking for them. And social PvE playerbase is affected by their whining.

I have friends who play this game. I get to play along side them and have a some laughs doing whatever their quest is at the time. Some are up there in rank, some are below. Sometimes we're helping with pinnacles or other catching up on things. We are a small group, not all of us play 24-7, raids are on the rare side. We are the players from broken clans that have banded together over time to enjoy a get away in to a place where we are true to each other and simply have fun! As far as the nerfs go - this is why I always keep the best version I have drop of each weapon. I deleted original Shadow Price, and will never make that mistake again.

2 RepliesSeriously yeah, this game is now just for lifers, streamers and recovery players. The stuff that's complicated is too complicated. The stuff that's easy is too easy. The grind is incredibly boring and unrewarding. The stuff you get is just gonna be nerfed. New story angles never get resolved. Most can't be bothered to dig around for cryptic lore that youtubers have to interpret. I wish they woulda sold it to another company a long time ago.

1 ReplyI see the same people over and over. Game doesn’t have enough players for a variety of personality.

2 RepliesThat’s why they only invite streamers/youtubers to bungie summits build the game for them. Fk the 99% of us that have a life not playing games in mommy’s basement

10 RepliesOh no! They took away your toys and then added a difficult activity? Sound the alarms, the game isn't focused on casuals anymore. They're making skill matter again.

1 ReplyYou will notice all the content creators are just fine with all the adjustments.....

4 RepliesSo if you get on to be social and have fun, then the nerfs and harder nightfall doesn't effect you at all, you can still have fun and be social. They didn't take the strikes, patrols, etc. Away that added stuff. But guess what some people like to run harder crap, and that's for us. Yeap and some of the nerfs, suck hard, but I will learn to adapt, and find some weapon that is just as good.

1 ReplyI just play to stand around in the tower lol

Cool. You'll still play.

4 RepliesAnother post from person who's unwilling to adapt ?

Edited by joshjda: 2/22/2020 7:54:54 AMAgreed. I'm also loving how all pvp tool matchmaking tools spawn tools etc are all used to fix games as well. If you are not playing in a fireteam you will see your wins vs losses sit nearly 50 50 and your kd becomes pretty much static. If your kd drops from that static area you can crush crap for a while till it gets back up. If it goes too far past that static area then you get crushed till it goes back down. My static kd is 1.41 that is where it had been for like 6 months then I did some survival for weapona dn crap dropped it to 1.39. Then it rocketed up to 1.42 earlier today in iron banner. Then like 7 rounds of bs lag soup dropping it back to 1.40. Stupid game rigged as hell why even bother. You can say w.e you like but having a constant kd of 1.41 for 6 months straight with no movement is impossible without it being helped to stay that way.

6 RepliesBungie intended for this so-called sequel to be accessible for 'casual' players and be a 'collections' game. Shortly after D2 released the player-base plummetted. Bungie tried for the first year to sustain this 'casual' experience only to fail. Then for some odd reason, Bungie over-corrected and made the game so over complicated and anti-casual that it was nearly impossible for players to complete any kind of 'collection'. Now Bungie are just in 'float' mode - adding sub-par content occasionally with very little effort. Every employee working at Bungie knows that they screwed up trying to cater to the SJW movement and make an all-inclusive casual gaming experience. But they are still intentionally using every chance for lucrative gain that they can. Basically - it was a failure at the start and a failure at every attempt at 'fixing' it. Now its just a cash generator that feeds on the foolish players that remain addicted to a broken shell of a game.
