  • They ruined breakneck Handcannons were deleted from PvE. A 110 not being able to 1 shot red bars that aren't thrall is pathetic SMGs are trash and the one that was good was also the one that was nerfed 360 autos need a buff Why nerf snipers when boss stomp exists? Pulse rifles are mediocre Swords are meta

    It was the best weapon ever made. Nothing could contest with it. Not handcannons that one shot minors. Not pulses that one burst the same. No side arm or smg could handle it either. It was too powerful for its own-Yeah I don't think I can keep lying. Just so you know, I'm being sarcastic.

    • Jeez y'all complaining about breakneck? The only reason why it's soo OP as you say us because the slight difference in impact and better stability. It's not that much difference from Null calamity. Just get better at the game. I have problems w breakneck sometimes because I obviously need more practice. Dont be getting rid of a good gun because you can't play the game.

            • Before the Breakneck nerf could you think of a single primary, legendary auto rifle that stood out more than Breakneck?... this is the simple fact why it was nerfed, numbers. When it came to cleaning up trash mobs, it was a go to weapon as a primary auto rifle in that situation. The logic behind the nerf? In my opinion it had to do with Bungies crusade on trying to reign in all the powerful weapons that THEY allowed into the wild. If you look into the recent past, you’ll see that whenever something starts to stick out too far above everything else, Bungie will eventually adjust/nerf it so that it falls more in line with the rest of their type. Long story short, there’s a reason why there is no more pinnacle weapons. They’ve been replaced by lackluster quest weapons that are no better, pretty much, than any other weapon in the wild. If History has taught us anything about Bungie logic, it’s that they will take away what you earned and put a weaker imitation of it in its place for the sake of balance. This is just what they do and will continue to do. This is just my opinion and my observation of how the game has been managed so far.

                • They want switch meta to Recluse. Breakneck was absolute requirement for any activity for too long. They are just creating more room for Recluse. Btw try Recluse for diversity. It is not so bad as primary.

It’s actually doing negative damage so not only did Bungie nerf the weapon, they broke it entirely. If I wasn’t a Completionists/Collector, it would be dismantled by now.

                        • Like I said earlier, the nerf wasn't needed at all. The gun was slightly above average at best but not OP. You know, like a pinnacle weapon. It had a problem running out of ammo pre-nerf, now you almost have to run reserves/scavenger just to use it.

                        • It would be over used with this new artifact era. I know the past two artifacts, I had trouble finding an auto rifle that I wanted to use with the auto related artifact mods. Breakneck would have been my go to. Especially since I grinded for mine, by choice, when it first came out. I am sure the un called for nerf shortly before this system was introduced, was not a coincidence.

                          The fix would be make it exotic and iunnerf the onslaught. BadJuJu is pretty comparable with the catalyst especially.
