Just Dont Care Anymore about Armor, Grinding, or This Game im Burned out
D1 was a fantastic Game at the end of its life cycle with Age of Triumph, so many things to do, cool as hell armor with even cooler looking ornaments, Raids were exciting and the weapons you got from them were really awesome looking and put it work. Vendors all had weapons for sale each week with different roles and leveling up your vendor meant something, Strikes had strike specific loot where you got weapons or armor mostly, The game was fun all my clan mates would get on we would do raid challenges, kings fall, wotm, crotas end, VOG these were good times
That was then
This is now
1) Raid weapons not that great and not cool looking like part 1
2) no vendor refresh we moved to a casino slot machine type token system nobody really likes
3) no Factions with exclusive gear and weapons
4) no weekly raids and raids arent nearly as good as part 1
5) daily and weekly activities grant you crappy gear that cant get you prisms or shards
6) not enough sources for pinnacle weapons especially for the solo player
7) endless grind for non meaningful armor and weapons
8) bunch of mods that you cant apply unless you got masterworked armor which hardly nobody has due to the rarity and ridiculous cost to masterwork
9) re skinning of old weapons and armor and putting it as new content

1 ReplyThen quit playing, take a break. You'll never play a game that you will not get bored with after a while, I love fallout new vegas but guess what, I got bored of it. Same with Destiny, if you're bored of a game just take a break from it, there's no obligation to play.

4 RepliesYou’re first point is completely clouded with nostalgia. Kings Fall and Crotas End had the worst weapons every, even the exotics. No one ever used them, except Touch of Malice in the oryx encounter so obviously they are not as great as you say they were.

1 ReplyGive it some time. Given how closely d2 has shadowed d1’s failings and achievements, I wouldn’t find it to be a stretch to say we’ll see another age of triumph towards the end of d2’s life. It’ll most likely accomplish the same goals too. Revamped raids, exotic reprisals of good guns, slightly revamped horde modes..... you get the idea.

I quit this full time job when i realized even after grinding to get that gun i was after, it would be obsolete an update/nerf soon after. Meaning all that time was a complete waste in the end. I think it was around the time Whisper was getting its second or third round of nerfage.

7 RepliesIt doesn't sound like your burnt out. It sounds more like you're over this shit. I think some people are coming to grips with they aren't burnt out on the game. They're burnt out on constantly trying to stay ahead of Bungie's constant direction changes of this game. Let's be real, everything we do this year will be made worthless and irrelevant when they want to sell their next big dlc. Then and only then will we magically see all of the QoL updates people have been requesting for months. Enough of the carrot to make people think they're listening so they all buy into another round.

1 ReplyI'd be fooling myself to claim this game hasn't always been some form of work. Whether it was running 100's of strikes in D1 for that ultra rare chance at an exotic or grinding fractaline bounties. The difference is what we're grinding for. The rewards suck, and they will always suck because they can't unbalance PvP. Look, I know some people love PvP and I respect that. Your opinion is just as valid as mine, it's just what you like to do. But from my perspective they've slowly ripped the heart of this game out ever since Trials was first introduced and crucible balancing became a major priority. Not just nerfing Vex Mythoclast because it was almost Prometheus Lens OP, but nerfing everything slowly down to the point No Land Beyond was on the chopping block. I'm not trying to put people on the defensive, I'm just saying that we can't really have worthwhile rewards and keep a balanced crucible. That's what this game is now, just a slog for weapons and armor that can't be much better than what's already out there. Sure they rotate the most powerful to keep an appearance up and give people a few guns to chase, but they get nerfed back down eventually.

I'd say that you are finally coming to grips with the reality that if you log on to Destiny 2 tonight, you will be doing the exact same thing that you have been doing since September of 2014. We are on year 6 now, and it's incredibly hard for any game developer to keep people's interest in the same base game play for that long of a period Of time. Bungie is trying though. We literally have twice if not three times the amount of things to do. That's not to say that they are any more exciting rather proving my point that you're just doing the same thing you've always done in the destiny franchise. As far as the quality of the raids and raid gear, that is strictly a matter of perspective. I personally never cared for any of the raid gear because I thought it looked silly. But to each their own. I've got some sitting in my Vault if anyone wants them LOL. The ascendant shards?? They are doing exactly what people who complained about how easy it was to Masterwork gear want them to do. I myself have 2 fully master worked sets of gear with five ascendant shards sitting in my inventory. I'm with you 100% as far as the factions go. Boy do I miss them!

Because they decided instead of raid perks to make them mods. Which is fine sure, but idk why some weapons/armor cant have a gear set bonus similar to prime armor. Give a reason other than stats to chase armor. Weapons are lame because you can get the same rolls on other weapons. Iron banner is lane because it's always control, cant pick rewards and have to depend on tokens, the quest is lane as hell. Vendors in general need some love. What they should do is swap loot pools every season. So instead of the same garbage weve had for 2 years let's say they implement the undying weapons/armor. And then next season something similar. One could argue well what was the point of grinding when you do this. Because its rng and you cant pick what you want.

2 RepliesThis is why I main PVP. It is challenging, demoralizing, exhilirating, and utlimately just plain fun. PVE is what I do when I need a break from the chaos of crucible. PVE types who burn out should give it a try. You might be surprised.

Only grind worth doing for me is the armor ornaments, once I rank that up I could care any less about everything else

I disagree on the Token system due to how flexible it is compared to just reputation points.
