Arbalest
While playing IB yesterday I got an Arbalest to drop after a match. I had never even heard of it before, nor can I remember ever seeing anyone use it. Is it useful at all?

Good against shields and if you hit a crit it will one hit kill in pvp. It can be used like a sniper. But best in pve.

its sadly not doing what it was advertised aka taking down shields.. it SHOULD be having he eriannas vow "anti barrrier rounds" treatment.. but its completely useless against those new enemies.. so its basically one of the good weapons for the "zero hour" mission.. sadly nothing else..

1 ReplyI used it for most of my Zero Hour (Heroic) runs to finish the Outbreak Perfected catalyst. It's niche, but when it's useful, it's super useful.

Very useful against shields of ay type. It’s a Halloween forest gun.

It’s a one tap to the head in crucible. In pve it breaks any elemental shield. It’s semi decent, a powerful tool in the right hands.

1 ReplyI really like it for niche builds and some particular situations. Think of it as a kinetic weapon that can down any elemental shield. I especially like it on pve builds were I can't, or dont want to run weapons with all different elements. For me that's my nezarec sin devourlock build. It let's me run a void primary in the second slot without being useless against enemies with solar and arc shields. Overall Its a really good (and highly underrated) weapon for PvE, but not that great for pvp

I ran arba for a long time in gambit paired with recluse and wendigo. Worked out pretty good. Had a hard time using it in pvp, although my son swore by it in crucible.

It’s pretty good for long-range PvP. I used to rock it in the Crucible and I even got a Ghost in the Night with it a season or two ago. I definitely recommend it in place of a sniper if that’s your kind of thing.

It loses touch in higher end activities since Match Game practically nullifies its shield piercing power and it can really only pierce 2-3 non-elemental shield types (Phalanx, Hydra, and I think Hobgoblin).

I think It breaks Cabal and Hydra Shields.

If you dont have a sleeper simulant. to me that is like the next best kind of a baby sleeper simulant in other words.
