It seems every request is met with silence from Bungie, I’ve heard fellow Titans, Hunters and Warlocks ask for so many changes for years and changes rarely come. PVP and PVE need reworks, the loot is so shallow and activities in general are boring and repetitive.
If Bungie would stop focusing on Eververse (the true Darkness) and start listening to the community (not just the fanboys) maybe your player base would grow and new light players would stay.
But who am I kidding? Bungie won’t read this, won’t reply to this and I’ll unfortunately keep playing and hoping for things to change until Cyberpunk 2077 comes out.

They have not confirmed they are working on D3. The only thing they said during pre Shadowkeep interviews was that they will continue to make new seasonal content and expansions for D2.
-
Content is hard. Eververse is easy.

12 RepliesEdited by Cinderchar: 12/1/2019 1:40:34 AMI don’t know about Destiny 3, but there has to be a large chunk of people missing at this point working on something else. If this is Bungie at full capacity and fully dedicated to the life of Destiny 2, holy shit this is a bad development group.
-
1 ReplySure hope not. Zero interest in my vault getting blown up and needing to start over to re-earn all the same exotics and armor all over again like they did with d2.
-
2 RepliesBungie is getting into politics in 2020. No more video games.
-
12 RepliesNo, they just ignore these forums. And if you have a highly-rated YouTube or Twitch channel, your voice counts more. They want to build the Destiny that THEY want, not what YOU or I want.
-
3 RepliesD3 preview ....we are losing all our weapons and armor because they're developing a new system where there are new archetypes and styles of weapons and the old ones wont work.....also.....also.....see those mountains over there.....you can go to them.......they totally wouldnt do that again now would they.

5 RepliesI believe they are looking at sticking with D2 and developing it over time, they are working on a game for the Chinese market or something, every greedy c*nt and his wife is chasing the Chinese cash.
-
5 RepliesEdited by GSXHeckler: 12/2/2019 5:44:48 PMI wouldn't get my hopes up for D3. Extending D2 support for 5 more years puts the franchise at 10 years. That would end the 10 yrs plan many talked about. I honestly think D2 is the end. How it ends is left to see. Also add in the rumors of their new IP is expected in 2025 and I think they will move on. They can barely keep up with one game. I don't see them being good at 2 concurrent games. EDIT: I see people are still liking this comment, so I did want to update some info that's wrong here. Someone else on the board informed me that the 10yr plan was actually involving their Activision contract, not the Destiny franchise. So there is no real timetable on how far it will go beyond the next 5 years.

Edited by BC1 Edge: 12/1/2019 9:57:01 AMWe shouldn’t make excuses for the lack of creativity in the content. They aren’t working on D3 cause that will take about a month to do, just cut and paste everything and use find and replace destiny 2 with destiny 3 and they are done.
-
13 RepliesCore teams are working on Matter. Destiny is being handled by intern level staff. That's why you see so much reskinned content and very less originality.

Edited by WP ScorpionWind: 12/2/2019 12:52:03 AMYou took the words right out of my mouth from A to Z. Cyberpunk 2077 can't come soon enough. I am so hoping that it is everything it's been made out to be because right now the gaming industry and the community could use a planned out, well made, complete, bug tested, and respectable game. As far as D3 is concerned I doubt we'll ever see D3. D1 was a great game, and while it may have gone through many of the same problems, things turned around dramatically by year 3 and for the most part only continued to improve from then on. D2 at launch was a DLC that got remade into a half designed and half made game that has been bleeding out as it's crawled across the ground. This game has been given numerous chances, and including the current die off has been through three rounds of losing it's player base. The Dawning Year one, the second half of year 2, and the current, Post Shadowkeep. The coming season of dawning, and the dawning event itself, which will very likely be like dawning year 1, is going to probably be the final nail in destiny's [The franchise as a whole] coffin.

1 ReplyNo D3, they're working on that Chinese joint project and milking D2 for the time being to keep some people in jobs.
-
Edited by name: 12/2/2019 3:22:47 PMthe core bungie team is no longer working at bungie :D the destiny franchise is as good as dead LMAO

8 RepliesThere's not going to be a Destiny 3. The name "Destiny" has been ruined to most people that have played and left the game. The brand is a loser and the company is well aware of it. That's why they announced 5 more years of this iteration of the game and they will release their new product "Matter" in 2025.
-
3 RepliesI get the feeling they are just keeping D2 on life support for the cash grab. I hope they don’t try a D3... can you imagine having to obtain all the same weapons... again? This game is such a yard sale anymore... they really missed an opportunity to make a great game, sad.
-
2 RepliesNo they're working on their new IP with that " Chinese Activision deal." They're just cash milking Destiny to meet payroll and to pay bills
-
I honestly don't think so. Bungie has already stated they are working on another live service game (IP) to be released around 2025 (I think), and they have that deal with NetEase (which could be related). I think Destiny 2 is just kind of limping along until whenever. You'd think as much complaining that goes on around these forums, that barely anyone cares about D3. 😂
-
D2 is now looked after by the 2 interns and the vending machine.

3 Replies1. The company doesn’t have infinite manpower. 2. The people responsible for the rework you want left the company. 3. The development money and 400 people to make new content were lost when Bungie split with Activision. 4. So how do you expect Bungie to make up for those losses? Tooth Fairy?? Eververse generates the MONEY to do the things you want. Stop whining and trying to bite the hand that’s feeding the game the financial resources it needs.
-
1 ReplyThere will be a D3 and it will be the final campaign vs the Pyramid Ships and the real Darkness. They will port D1 into the new engine and merge the best aspects of the two games into one final version That's my prediction anyway
-
The studio is working on a new non destiny game for release in 2024. Actually out some job adverts up this wanting a few staff for destiny 2 and a lot more staff for a secret non destiny game. They've promoted a few current D2 Devs to go work on the new game the last few weeks (spoke about on twitter) so that might explain the D2 job adverts. I don't expect D2 to get any better, or ever to see a D3
