Rock Music Group / Performer - Who is THE.....?
This one is specifically about Rock. Anyone wanting to copy paste this and do another for other genres, have at it. I'm not qualified to do Pop, R&B, Rap, Metal, whatever for I do not listen to them.

Van Halen
They just encapsulated EVERYTHING it was to be 'rockstars'. I recall a interview with Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul on their favorite bands, and something Vinnie said made perfect sense to me about Van Halen. On stage, they were 'pure energy'. I thought that exemplified they're live show really well.

Another long list of options, but I'd have to say Boston. So much innovation in sound. But I could make a list of others who also seem to be under rated or virtually forgotten.

Edit: Floyd I like too but my answer is Queen. I can't stand the Beatles, but they're not rock. So I'll say the Doors for this topic. Overrated though I would say Led Zeppelin, I only enjoy like two of their songs. Edit 2: Skynyrd is a close second on overrated imo.

Redacted the ozzy comment cuz i forgot about Zakk... Sooo. Worst eh? Overrated.... Pearl jam comes to mind. Eddy vedder just stinks as a vocalist. Overrated. Musically? Metallica. Best overall musicianship? First 2 Dream Theater albums.

[b]Best?[/b] I have tons of favorite groups, but I’ll have to say Rush this time. I know they weren’t the most popular band, but their entire discography just oozes pure talent and craftsmanship. His voice is unremarkable, his writing is uninspired, and the only reason they were remotely popular as a band is because he screamed “FIAAAAAAAH” on the Ed Sullivan Show. [b]Most over rated?[/b] I’m gonna get some hate from this, but my choice is Bon Jovi. They’re actually a pretty good group with some solid hits, but they weren’t the absolute epitome of 80s hair metal. All they truly accomplished was stealing the spotlight from bands like Scorpions, Def Leppard, Ratt, and pre-black album Metallica. [b]Most under appreciated?[/b] The White Stripes never got enough credit for what they did. When grunge was getting stale, they reinvented modern rock and roll by bringing it back to its most basic roots. They were just 2 people with a guitar and a drum set, but they created a sound and a style that changed the game in the early 2000s.

9 RepliesBest: Led Zeppelin You literally cannot beat these guys. Worst: Beatles Pop stars. not rock stars, yet people tell me that they are the best rock group. Most Overrated: Queen They have some good stuff, but most of their best is less rock, more pop Most Under Appreciated: The Police. I love this band. I grew up to the police. Sting, great vocals, great artistic direction Andy Summers, great guitar player Stewart Copeland on the drums is a clear win.

But they’re my favorite band so I’d feel dirty listing anyone else) Worst: I don’t have time to list every Hair Band. Just name one and the answer will be “yes”. Dark time in rock music as far as I’m concerned. And though I don’t dislike Van Halen.. I do blame their success for the Hair Band boom. Sure you’ve got songs like [i]Wanted Dead or Alive[/i] that are absolutely incredible, but the majority of them are like [i]Living On a Prayer[/i] (an overrated song imo). 2 Replies-Best? Zeppelin. While Atlantic still ran distro for Swan Song, Zepp had the balls to let their original contract with Atlantic expire. At which point Jimmy Page formed Swan Song and went on to sign Bad Company. Runner Up: Sabbath. One of the godfathers of heavy metal. Worst? The Rolling Stones. -Most over rated? The Rolling Stones. Most under appreciated? E.L.O. Runners Up: Rush.

TBK are a duo of pretentious, insipid losers who wouldn't know what originality was even if they looked it up. It's amazing that people give Greta Van Fleet or whatever the -blam!- shit for sounding like Zep, but are probably the same people who praise TBK despite them sounding like literally every band of the era whose coattails they're riding...)
