TLDR; Reckoning is frustrating due to bad mix of subclasses or enemy boops, removing the timer makes it more accessible and less frustrating.
--------
Reckoning is broken, if you dont have a decent team of mixed subclasses then basically you arent doing tier 3, I could likely come up with other ways for Bungo to fix this but I doubt they want to waste their time changing this in multiple ways using resource to do this when heading into Shadowkeep.
If you simply remove the timer completely then any rag tag bunch of noobs of whatever class will be able to bumble their way through this as they don't get kicked to the start as a knight booped everyone off the bridge (don't get me started on that enemy ability!!). The reason I think the timer is in their is as its Season 6's endgame as it didn't have a raid but we are in seven now and theirs other things to do instead, this would open it up to less skilled players and people would be more incline to grind for the Drifter guns, it will likely also bring in more skilled solo players as they will feel less frustrated when helping noobs through.
I think this is what made Menagerie so accessible and successful as it was (pre chest nerf) and this is old content now so whats the harm really? If the elites still want to feel the pain maybe add a Heroic mode and not only keep the timer but also add a delta scale and either triumphs or a new gun only available in Heroic so everyone wins.
Surely this is an easy fix and wouldn't take up to much Bungo resource?

1 ReplyPlease stop ask to remove timer All you need to learn how to play

That respawn timer is horrible way to long that needs to be shortened by like 6 seconds or 7

Edited by l Beanie l: 7/25/2019 12:58:33 PMYup its absolutely ridiculous. If 3 people die on the bridge, and 1 person stays alive, that 1 person can sit in the circle and the timer still runs out. It's a joke!!!!!!!! There needs to be more time for people to clutch these situations. Who remembers the hero clutch times of Destiny 1. Those moments don't exist in Destiny 2, and it's shameful on Bungies part. The bridge part of the reckoning could make for some clutch moments, but nope. Bungie doesn't understand what players want (normal players!!!!) We don't all want to be in sweaty teams making callouts!!!!

Removal of the timer would significantly make this activity worth the grind.

2 Repliesthey do not know how to make the game more challenging, so instead they have to put timer on every god dam activity, why not put it on gambit and raids as well if you are at it!

1 ReplyI think you really did a good job to update Ada-1 and giving her all weapon frames each week. I think it is time to update the drifter season as well now. Please update the synthesizer so that we can use our synths for weapons too. Let us put 2 motes into the bank of reckoning. One for armor and the other one for a weapon. Weapons can only be created with motes on tier 3. You need 3 synths for a weapon mote like tier 3 armor. Tier 2 will not be changed; there you can get random weapon drops but you can not put any weapon motes into the bank so it stays a rare drop chance. Example: 3 yellow synths will be formed to a weapon mote and will drop the following weapons: pulse rifle (oryx week) or sword (knight week). 3 red synths will drop sniper rifle (knight week) and SMG (oryx week). 3 white synths will drop auto rifle (oryx week) and sidearm (knight week). 3 green synths will drop scout rifle (knight week) and garanate launcher (oryx week). Note: There are 10 weapons overall so for the hand cannon (oryx week) and shot gun (knight week) you need 1 synth of each. I think that the hand cannon and the shot gun are the most wanted weapons from this activity so it should be 1 synth from each color. Otherwise you could have 4 invaders in a team because everyone wants red synths for the hand cannon. This way people have a reason to play Gambit Prime more often to get enough synths for Reckoning and its weapons. Reckoning will give you a 100% drop chance of a specific weapon so people will enjoy to play it because they can traget their goal. People don’t feel that their time is wasted and the circle between Gambit Prime and Reckoning will be closed and feels good. Please also note that I can hardly find fireteam members for Gambit Prime via the Destiny 2 Application. Nobody seems to play it. If you improve it like written above than I am sure it will be much easier for me or anyone else out there who is looking for a team now and then. Thank you for reading Bungie!

Get rid of Reckoning... period

Exactly. Remove timers from everything. Unfortunately, no matter how easy or simple it is, they will never listen to customer feedback, especially if it is not something that directly makes them money. You are dealing with shady, greedy hacks who incapable of the smallest of tasks. All they care about is things like celebrating gay month and of course money.

I think they just need to tone down the stomp mechanic that all bosses are exploiting haha

It should just be PoE

2 RepliesAnd guaranteed weapon drops! :)

2 RepliesCompleted it as a titan many of times no well of light or tether required honestly haven’t seen the timer as an issue since the first time I ran it 10 points under light. 🤷🏽♂️ even with randoms in matchmaking it’s still easily done.

24 RepliesI can't understand why it's so hard for people to just recruit competent players and finish the activity? I've done it and succeeded more often than not and never had an issue with the timer or stomp mechanics or the last boss. you are doing something wrong and your team needs better communication.

3 RepliesEdited by whateverman7: 7/24/2019 1:04:55 AMI disagree. No need to remove the timer, it's ok to fail. If you dont want to fail, use a different strat, weapons, subclass, etc., i.e. get better at the game, but there is no need for them to make the game even easier cause people dont want to fail. At this point, if they keep making the game easier and easier because people dont wanna fail, they might as well go the nintendo route and have the game play itself for us.

8 RepliesThe problem with reckoning (my opinion) - match making Most teams need at least a Warlock running a well - and if you don't have a well you're going to need a Hunter with a orphious rigs (still difficult without well) This is the meta - period When I run as my Warlock or Hunter I can usually complete my bounties and weekly (because I use the above subclasses) When I run as my titan it is a struggle- because too many times I either don't have a well and/or tether Either bungie's match making needs an adjustment to account for subclasses or the mechanics should be adjusted so the subclasses are not so skewed I'm open to any pro tips!

Reckoning sucks and is left behind content. They aren't going to allocate the resources to fix it and will instead push forward with with new content that will hopefully make you forget about old, broken content. Let it go, it's dead. Ride the new content wave and shake your head at poorly implemented old content and think about "what coulda been".

7 RepliesMan the timer suck massive balls. You're not on the point for a second and you don't make it. But watch out. There will be one masochistic A-hole ready to defend the strict time limit cuz he likes "challenge". Either extend the timer greatly. You get a minute to cap the first point why do all follow up control points have 30s or less. You all fir once and it's over. I didn't help the devs balanced this with skull of ahamkara, phoenix protocol and other super regaining exotics in mind and then just nerf them but don't change the activity. That doesn't add up. Also remove blackout. Most horrible modifier im the game.

I agree. Timers are a cheap way to make content seem difficult.

11 RepliesGet rid of timers in everything.

2 RepliesBungie already described the issue with Reckoning perfectly, but they refuse to fix the issue. They designed Reckoning to be a challenge for people with infinite supers. They took the infinite supers away, but neglected to retune the activity. I only attempt Reckoning when I’m running Warlock, well of radiance, and Phoenix Protocol. That way I can carry my team through the bridge as long as they don’t make stupid mistakes. It’s just too frustrating to rely on others as a Titan, and Orpheus Rigs tether is fairly inconsistent if you don’t have a well to protect the group from snipers. I’m talking about mm, by the way. I understand that an organized team can breeze through tier 3 with any team comp.

I like the clocks that have the 2 hands moving slowly. Like it looks faster but its the same as a regular clock

8 RepliesGeneric Masochistic Player: "There is no challenge without a timer. Get gud scrubs." Lol, Dark Souls doesn't have a timer. Must not be challenging then...
If you can't see challenge past a timer, then you have no idea what you're talking about.
3 RepliesI don't know your skill level, but we go in with anything and beat it every single time. Just learn to play your class in the most beneficial way for your team. Hunters, Run tether and Orpheus rigs. Warlocks, Run Lunas/Well of radiance Titans, Run Banner shield. Easy.
