Crossplay instead of just cross-save???
If your allowing cross save, why not just go all out and push for crossplay. I would love to play again with xbox friends on my ps4. It's amazing using discord and playing rocket league or dauntless together. Dont let cod beat you to it. Crossplay is the future.

Just because there is cross play it wouldn’t mean pc players would be in your xbox lobbies I’m assuming it would be like fortnite where unless your fire team has an mnk player and a controller player you’re still going be playing against players using the same input devices as you.

PC players have a much higher skill ceiling I mean damn, if I was on a trash console locked at 30fps, i would be so upset if there was crossplay PC is by far the best way to play destiny, console isn’t even close

its been tested and it would go in order from how has an advantage over the other... pc then xbox then playstation... mouse and key bored the best for shooters and we found that the stick placement on xbox controllers are better for reaction based shooters, infact this was tested back when MW3 was a thing.

Cross play is much more technically challenging with the game's current networking architecture (P2P). I am sure they will eventually get there. Cross save is a good first step.

3 RepliesEven if they wanted Crossplay, it is ultimately up to the console developer. Its always about the console developers. I believe the cross save agreement was last minute. They JUST got the deal a day before the stream.

1 ReplyCrossplay between PS4 and Xbox is okay. But not if you add PC to it as well. PC has a HUGE edge in aiming and other things that would absolutely make the Crucible highly unenjoyable for console players that have to rely on aim assist. It would force everyone that plays Crucible to either quit or learn to setup and use a mouse and keyboard on their console. Which defeats the purpose of a dang console. I might as well buy Destiny 2 and all the extras on PC; starting all over again, if I'm forced to pick up a mouse and keyboard. See what I am saying? But yes... PS4 vs Xbox would be okay. But let the PC players play by themselves. lol.

5 RepliesConsole players cant play at 60fps. Thats probably the biggest reason why it wont happen, do you really think pc players want to play destiny at 30fps? Not to mention console players will get obliterated by pc players on crucible. Cross save is fine, cross play on a game like destiny is overkill for console players

They've said they're interested. I think it will come eventually. First they have to figure out the logistics of cross saves and moving over to steam and all the stuff with the shadowkeep launch. I bet it will come within a year.

3 RepliesCross play requires dedicated servers. Destiny uses P2P networking....and these machines can't talk to each other in the way required to do that. In Cross play....all your console or PC has to do is talk to the host server. The server handles talking with the other players on other platforms.
