I made a post last week about the lack of exotic buffs in the TWAB. Specifically pointing out that after all the exotic nerfs, the only real buff was for Sturm. People sure loved commenting that I'm dumb because the full patch notes were coming out on Tuesday, and surely they would be buffing/reworking other exotics... no. So I'd like to take a moment here to pour one out for the bad exotics who lost their last chance at redemption heading into the new season. Maybe you still use these exotics, but you have to know in your heart that they are A) far from the optimal choice for any activity or B) Completely outclassed by a different Legendary/Exotic.
RIP Sunshot
RIP Skyburner's Oath
RIP Sweet Business
RIP Malfeasance
RIP Trinity Ghoul
RIP Huckleberry
RIP Vesper of Radius
RIP Peacekeepers
RIP Mechaneer's Tricksleeve's
RIP Wings of Sacred Dawn
RIP Lucky Pants
RIP Winter's Guile
RIP Helm of Saint-14
RIP Sealed Ahamkara Grasps
RIP Apothesis Veil
RIP Oath Keeper
RIP Ashen Wake
Return to the vault and sleep... They can't hurt you anymore.

*Doesn't mention any of the Aeon exotics whatsoever* Ah, I see you're a hater of the aeon culture as well.

3 Replies1/2 of these are easy buffs. Sunshot - Increase the mag size to 11. Skyburner’s - Boost the tracking on the hip fire and bump up the Damage bonus against the Cabal to +25%. Sweet Buisness - Make it so picking up any primary ammo with this weapon equipped reloads the mag, not just when firing. Also bump the damage by 5% when at max fire rate. Malfeasance - Make it Arc and Increase the slug detonation Damage by 10%. Trinity Ghoul - Decrease Draw Time from 840 to 760. Huckleberry - +10 Stability and +10 recoil direction. Merciless - Increase Impact by 10 to 85. Hardlight - Fix the recoil so people don’t physically get sick when using this weapon. Worldline Zero - Increase tesseract Damage by 30%. Cerberus+1 - Allow additional shots to deal Precision Damage. Vesper of Radius - Add a blinding effect to the burst. Peacekeepers - grant increased acc/stability shortly after drawing. Tricksleeves - Allow the perk to activate if the Sidearm is out or increase the duration until health is fully restored. Wings of Sacred Dawn - Reduce Solar Ability cooldown on Kills while airborne. Lucky pants - Increase the draw speed bonus and (fully reload your handcannon on precision kill or reload more ammo based on weapon damage for snipers, bows, and shotguns) Winters Guile/The Titan ones - Increase the stack duration by 1 second and increase melee attack speed. Saint 14 - None. It’s really powerful, bubble just isn’t... Sealed Ahamkara Grasps - Grants an additional melee charge/increase melee lunge range similar to synthoceps Apotheosis Veil - orbs of light reduce all your ability cooldowns Oathkeepers - Now give a bump to bow ready, reload speed, and handling. Ashen Wake - Grants an additional Fusion grenade charge. Eye of Another World - Complete rework or just make the tracking more consistent and killing marked enemies Grants additional Rift energy. Knucklehead Radar - increased Radar Range and accuracy. Stag - idk, respawning inside a Rift instantly Grants you a more powerful overshield that lasts longer. Eternal Warrior - Increases Thundercrash Armor and reduces the cost of slams in normal FoH Graviton Forefeit - Vanish in Smoke Grants truesight. Kephri’s Horn - now releases a sunshot explosion that can chain between killed enemies. Enemies that pass through your barrier are ignited. Starfire Protocol - IDk, Fusion Grenades need a PvE buff... Stand Assides - Idk, Kills grant more energy back. I think that’s it. Took me 20 minutes to type this but very little effort to come up with... Lots of potential, but poor execution on Bungie’s part with many of these.

28 RepliesI’d be a lot more inclined to switch up my Weapon loadout if it weren’t for the Enhancement Core economy. The limitations of the Enhancement Core economy dissuade experimentation. Instead, it forces you to pick a favorite set up, and stick to it like glue.

13 RepliesSkyburners, Malf, and Huckleberry are all solid weapons that I enjoy using, and Lucky Pants are great if you run double HCs or Last Word/sniper.
-
1 ReplyTo be fair to Malfeasance, it is surprisingly underrated. Although that mainly applies to gambit and taken activities. Can't really defend the other exotics tho.
-
Remember when Helm of Saint 14 was amazing? Or how about Apotheosis Veil for Crota Hard? Remember when Sealed Ahamkara's Grasp was pretty useful for Hunters in PvP? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

6 RepliesBetter include Khepri's sting in there bud, on account of its exotic perk being that it makes smoke bombs short ranged. Good job bungie. You know, the exotic already had a unique perk that would make people use it. Didn't have to take it, and make it subclass exclusive, and also utter shite.

5 RepliesThey can always hurt them again. In D3 the idiots who want us all to pay for D1 exotics a second time because they're selfish will want D2 exotics back too! Then Bungie will use them to market their expansions using nostalgia for the pieces of crap we have currently, they'll say they're back at full power, they'll nerf them in 6 months again, and we'll have come full circle. Remember to thank the people who want D1 gear back at the cost of NEW content for every exotic that comes in September. A catalyst for Bad Juju has already been data mined... It's not like I hate D1 gear either, far from it actually, I love the D1 exotics. However I don't love them enough to force everyone else to give up new gear because I want my old gear back every season. Normally I wouldn't blame people for any of this but this is 100% on those people. Bungie are taking their requests and using them as a reason to not make new exotics and will do so as long as there are a few who want them, no matter how many say they don't want old gear if it means giving g up new gear.

6 RepliesThere's more dead exotics than you'd think. Unfortunately Khepri's Sting came to us already dead.
-
2 RepliesKapris horn, ashen wake, mask of the quiet one
-
...half of these exotics I still see and use...

1 ReplyCommunity - We are having fun using exotics.... Bungie - Hold my beer...
-
Add in the super regen exotics as well

Edited by Quote: 6/6/2019 12:54:19 AMI got a 722 skyburner's oath drop from my nightfall run today. I used it to infuse the curated gnawing hunger I got today :D Edit: People use Wings of Sacred Dawn for the levels when they aren't at 20 yet, and other people use it for the luls.

Helm of Saint-14 and Malfeasance are some of my favourite exotics mostly on looks alone Malfeasance it quite handy in Gambit Prime as is Helm when using a Tier 15 invader set But that’s really it I really want to see these exotics get tuned ,When Doom Fang Pauldrons was buffed it became THE go to Sentinal exotic and I absolutely love it ,Sure it can make my super last forever but since motes don’t spawn after 7 it really becomes such a great tool for clearing ads I want Helm to be able to compete with this exotic, Considering Saint-14 was quite effective with brute force why not add it so that meleeing enemies when you pass through the bubble temporary disorients them ,this buff granted to allies would only last 4 seconds outside the bubble, and the blindness will be a mere second ,enough for anyone to loose their bearings ,making Bubble an actual risk to not only enter but attack

1 ReplyWow. Just reminded me of Sweet Business. Makes me miss it a little.
-
As a diehard Bad Juju user in D1, I still use The Huckleberry for it's similar Ammo Regen and Rampage effects.

1 ReplyEdited by Reclaimer: 6/5/2019 11:19:28 PMDouble SMG Peacekeepers is hella funny, though. If you REALLY want to be annoying in the Crucible, use them with The Mountaintop and Recluse. The Lightweight perk stacks with the speed bonus on Peacekeepers (with Recluse). Might as well screenshot your Titan for a porn ad right then and there. “Shotgunners HATE him.”
-
Edited by Accola: 6/5/2019 11:38:28 PMI occasionally use helm of saint 14. Just for fun or to look cool Also ashen wake is pretty fun, the grenades detonate immediately and do some decent damage
-
I actually use sunshot, skyburner's oath, malfeasance, huckleberry, peacekeepers, winter's guile, and helm of saint-14. There a bit niche as to where I'll use them however I do still use them.
-
I used to love chaining Novas during the glimmer and spider tank public events. But that's fun, and Bungie doesn't believe in that. Getting less than half of my super back for killing a yellow bar and a group of enemies is just great. It really makes me want to continue playing the game, and buy the new expansion in September. Just kidding. It makes me want to uninstall D2 when Borderlands 3 comes out.

3 RepliesWe need new crucible armour sets and weapons! I mostly play pvp and I paid for the season pass. Where is my content? #whereismycontent
-
2 RepliesI play with Huckleberry from the start of the season. What did you talking about? Oath Keeper are my favorite exotic if I use bows.
-
Thank you for not mentioning the Aeon exotics. No amount of buffs can fix those, they need to be removed wholesale.

3 RepliesWon 3 rumble matches back to back with Oathkeeper + Le Monarque. I have no idea why you're holding a funeral for it.
