I’ve not wanted a ghost since dinklebot left 😅

I hope they don’t make the story do another “we lost everything and have to get it back” so they can have us “reacquire” gear from previous games again.

That's what I'm starting to think too. At some point, I think we'll get the choice of whether we want a ghost or not. We can be guardians of light with a ghost, that fight for life; or we can just be regular people without ghosts that live, then die.

What gives you the idea we'll lose ghost before the end? I'm sure we'll lose him at the end but not before them unless something big happens and we're separated for one reason or another. I have more of a feeling that the last city will be destroyed before the end. I'm sure humanity will survive in one form or another but some things the Drifter said sound like foreshadowing. One big example is how he says that even if we wrap a ward of dawn around the whole place people will die on their own and that we'd see things his way eventually. He also says that everyone we save becomes just another memory and that he doesn't need anymore of those. It sounds like even what he's told us is just the tip of his experience in the dark age before leaving Earth.
